Elderly, from age 28????
SSSHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.
To prevent burn out, you need to do the following:
1. Keep up to date with any progress happening in your workplace [like attend meetings, become involved in company events, etc]. Being "left out of the loop" can cause unnecessary stress & feelings of alienation.
2. Work your scheduled hours. If you have no choice but to do overtime, like meeting deadlines, then try to keep it at a minimum. Remember "work, rest & play everyday", meaning attribute 8 hrs of your day to each.
3. Make sure you participate in stress management activities after work, like sports, socialising, etc.
Burnout = unmanaged stress.
If you're getting bored with your job, it's time to move on or change your career. Even really, really, OLD people at 28 are still young enough to change career paths!

I'm 48 and feel young sometimes and old sometimes, but with the job I'm right at the burn out stage. My rational brain says stick it out and put in some more years, keep looking for other options, (which i am doing).
My wild side thinks: Sell the house, say goodbye at work, get in a van and just go!
Now what do you think about that?
How do I deal with it? I'm trying to figur that one out.
Interesting question, but by the way, elderly means over 75 now.

I personally, would be considerate of anyone who lives above me, no matter what their age. Excessive noise, which travels upward, may not go over well with anyone. Check a copy of the lease or ask the manager, about loud noise rules after a certain time of night. If you have no trouble abiding by them, then go for it. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders, per being considerate ahead of time, when choosing an apartment. Your parents must be very proud of you.

I'm old.............burn out does happen,so you have to keep your self happy .Find a job that's not a job ! Find some thing you love to do,and you will never hate going to work. It might take awhile and a few different jobs, but you'll know it when it comes. School, education, training all are important, follow your dreams at least try, go for it and good luck.

My father is 74, own his own business.
(radiator shop) No heat in the shop, we live in Fla, but it still gets pretty cold, for us anyway. No A/C, too hot in the summer.
He works 5 days a week 8-9 hrs a day.
He is just optimistic and loves what he does. He makes plenty of time to still go out have fun and enjoy life. (I think that's the key to just about anything)

Keep the job you have until you find something you like better. Every job will likely have something you don't like about it. That is why you get paid. Just an opinion that's all, just an opinion.
