I am 36 weeks measuring 39 weeks. The past 2 days i have been having contractions . They are not that painfull and they are not 10 mins apart . (Some are and some are not.) Im also having crampy PMS feelings and my lower back hurts. I am also having alot of discharge. I dont know when i should or if i should call my DR. Is this the start of labor or is it wishful thinking?

I forgot to add that my first daughter was born at 36 wks and my water broke with her so i never really had labor pains and she was breech so they took her c-section. So now im wondering if it matters how long apart my contractions are? Thanks.

If the discharge is watery, then I would call the Dr. It sounds to me like you are getting close!! And it never hurts to get checked! Better safe than sorry, and by sorry I mean delivering your baby yourself on the bathroom floor!

It could be. I would call the doctor when the contractions are regular. This stage can last a while especially in a first pregnancy. If your water breaks go ahead and call. You can call now if it will make you feel better, but they will probably say to wait until the contractions are regular. Good luck with the delivery.

I've read a lot of books and have talked to many women and doctors about pregnancy. I too am pregnant (24 weeks) and doctors told me that when it gets to be time as far as having contractions, they told me that when contractions reach 5 minutes apart that's when you should call your doctor and that's when he/she will advise you to head to the hospital. If you're worried about it though, I'd call the doctor. He/she might tell you something different. Good luck with the baby.
