ok...at the age of 32 this is REALLY silly but i've always hidden from the window when there's thunder and lightning.
( just had a storm over North of London)

i'm convinced that if i'm on the computer or watching the tv and there's a thunder storm i'll get zapped by a bolt of lightning....?

is anyone else scared of lightning?
do you hate thunder and jump or hide?
or is it JUST me :-( ?

Once, in Missouri, I was talking to my husband on the phone and looking out the window, when BAM!! the lighting shot right past me an zapped our TV. I stay well away from windows in a storm now days. Actually, it's storming outside right now:-) I'm hiding in the closet.........Just Kidding
Storms are pretty treacherous down here in the south. And the news is always full of people dying in a twister at night. Why do most of mother natures wraths happen at night?
Uuummm, not to be cruel or anything, but uh, you really need a nose job:-)

I was told a long time ago to stay away from the windows during a lightning storm & I always have been spooked by that - when one strikes I'm always waiting for the electricity to go out & hoping it won't & then thinking about where the candles & flashlights are, lol, I know, a bit much, but I survived through a flood once....

I'm sorry your are scared of thunder and lightning. And to all those idiots who think being scared of something is something to make fun of, if your not scared of anything you would get serioulsy injured or worse. Fear helps you stay alive and is a safety mechanism. The storm has now passed and now heading south so hopefully you can relax now. Take care.

Oh No.... I don't like the thunderstorms either.

When I was a younger, my parents went out and I stayed home alone. There was a huge thunderstorm that night.... lighting striked a tree right across the street from my house and one of the branches flew right into the picture window of our livingroom. I screamed so loud... never had I ever seen that before and it was so loud too... so loud.
Been scared ever since... but you know that the safest place to be during a thunderstorm is in a vehicle, because you are grounded by rubber....

Cheers !!!

Theres a good reason for taking cover when lightning is directly overhead. In a strike the power is enough to vaporise the water in the pipes making them explode from the wall.

I don't think it is just you. Everyone gets startled by a clap of thunder.
I am not afraid of the thunder or lighting but I am no fool either, I don't stand outside holding on to a metal pole either.

Hey! My sister lives near Bristol! I love thunderstorms, and I wish we had them a bit more often here in L.A. I don't think you're being silly, I think that's playing it on the safe side. If they are pretty loud they CAN be scary, but they are still very cool, especially at night.

I absolutely love a storm however my boyfriend runs around the house like he's possessed switching everything off..lol

I just stand at the window and watch it. In fact we have one brewing where I live...fantastic.
