for english h/w I need to write a description of an old person - we've been asked to include the senses - i.e. smell, touch, taste, sight etc... I'm describing the smell - 'With every movement, a waft of lavender scent....' now I'm stuck - is dissipate the right word, but I'm thinking it might be too scientific and will disrupt the flow of writing... can you think of a word to put there...?

A cowboy, once, was having a drink in a saloon after a very weary day. As the guy was a regular client, the barman didn't mind at all that he was drinking since three long hours. However, when it was nearly time to close, the barman decided to go ask him to leave. Suddenly without even having time to tell him a word, he saw the cowboy taking out his gun with madness and pointing it at his glass of whisky, in which was floating a fly. The cowboy yells:
-Spit out what you've drunk or...!!!

We recently got back from being in Europe for three weeks (2 in London and 1 in Belgium). She drank the milk in London sporadically and said it was yucky at times. But when we arrived in Belgium the milk there apparently has has turned her off so badly (she was gagging on it and literally almost threw up her cereal due to the taste) that will NOT drink any milk now that we're home. She will not even drink the organic milk I always brought for her prior to our holiday. She drank minimum three cups a day, now she doesn't drink any. It has me worried since she has really not had any milk for about three weeks now. I even brought her new sippy cups, straws, etc. and nothing works. Any suggestions on how I can get her to drink her milk again?? (And yes I know I can and have substituted with cheese and yogurt but I don't feel that is enough calcium for her).

My aunt is pregnant with a baby girl, and has decided on the name Danica (that was actually my idea...the name of a character in my short story assignment!). But she's looking for a middle name...any suggestions are appreciated. The last name is Parker.

Oh, Danica means "morning star". Another name with a meaning that compliments "morning star" would be great, but anything that sounds good will be appreciated. Thanks!

I have had this battery acid feeling in my throat now off and on for a month. I started taking Prilosec OTC almost two weeks ago and last night I had the worst spell of acid in my throat. I tried taking Maalox and drinking some milk and nothing helped. This is the first time that I have had all day acid and not been able to get rid of it. Does anyone know of an Over the counter medicine that is especially good for acid reflux/acid in throat? I have already tried taking typical antacids like rolaids and Gas-X and of course the prilosec OTC. Or am I describing acid reflux disease and thus should go to the doctor? help!

We have a stray cat outside our house that we've been feeding. She's a fairly tiny cat, but she has a potbelly. You can clearly see her nipples, but they aren't swollen or anything. I've heard that cats can get a potbelly from having worms. But this cat always seems to be hungry. How can I tell how long she's been pregnant, or if she actually is without taking her to the vet or humane society?

Two years ago a close friend, who I raced with, got killed racing at the Isle of Man TT races on his motor-cycle. At the funeral, most had t-shirts, jeans, bike leathers etc. There was hardly a tie in sight. The funnies that we all used to do made the ceremony light hearted. This reflected him in its entirety. At the end of the service guests left the church to the sound of "look on the bright side of life". This was a humorous song from a film called "The Life of Brian" by Monty Python. When I go, it's gotta be fun for all and not sadness. My life has no time for sadness so my death definitely shouldn't either.

No matter where I go, I seem to have trouble fitting in. I've been told by a few people that I'm "different", but that it's not a bad thing. Somebody here once suggested that I might have Asperger's syndrome. I've read about that, though, and I don't fit the criteria. I just don't get it. I know that I'm kind of shy and awkward, but so are a lot of other people. I don't think that my appearance or my clothes are weird, so what gives?

I was at a baseball game the other day. The proper respect is to stand up and remove caps and look at the flag.

This one couple started saying "blah-blah-blah" doing the whole thing and then gave the middle finger at the flag afterwards. Right next to them, must of been friends, they refused to remove the caps. Some people nudged them to remove them, but they were cursed at.

I say, regardless of opinion on issues., they should respect the country they live in and set an example of pride. I was appalled. What do you think and have you seen this at other events?

80% of the comunication is about thier child but is mostly stuff tim could tell his dad(what he did at school/sports/what he ate at lunch ects). The other 20% is personal stuff about her(what her gyn told her,her father health, work issue ect) nothing to do with thier son. They have been divorced(he left her and she was very bitter about it) for 5yrs and she has been in and out of 5-6 relationships since then but has lots of friends she could talk to.My bf has joint custody and once called the school to get info about tims school activites. When his ex found out she was pissed her responce was "i allways make sure u get the stuff u need".Which is true but why would she care?its like she wants to be the one to hand him the stuff but why?My bf sees nothing wrong in what she is doing is it just me?

This may sound absurd to some people but I'm a 15yr old teenager from England and some of my family live over in Australia. For years I have wanted to go and finally i am making the decision to go when i get old enough.

I want some help on planning! I get £7 a week (not much, I know) how much should i put away of that to help me save up!

I'm studying for my GCSE's at the minute, and I want to do my A-Levels I just don't know whether I want to do them here, or in Australia.

I just would like to know the process of moving etc. etc.

Please no answers saying I'm too young.

Lest you forget, rabbid fundamentalists and gun nuts who like to hate moderately liberal fellow Americans do not a mainstream make.

Is that why so many are fed up with politics?

Is that why the far right is in rapid decline?
