This may sound absurd to some people but I'm a 15yr old teenager from England and some of my family live over in Australia. For years I have wanted to go and finally i am making the decision to go when i get old enough.

I want some help on planning! I get £7 a week (not much, I know) how much should i put away of that to help me save up!

I'm studying for my GCSE's at the minute, and I want to do my A-Levels I just don't know whether I want to do them here, or in Australia.

I just would like to know the process of moving etc. etc.

Please no answers saying I'm too young.

If you have family in Australia who you will be staying with and your family in the UK is happy with you going then have a great time. You will need to discuss money with your family both in the UK and in Australia. How much are they prepared to give you to cover your expenses etc. You will also need a casual job when you get here for spending money.

The education system in Australia and the UK is different. In the UK, you have five years of secondary school before doing GCSEs and then two years for A levels. In Australia there are six years of secondary school with the HSC (or equivalent) in the final year. You would need to do the last two years of high school over here as much of the Year 11 work leads to Year 12 and the HSC.

Talk to your family in Australia about local schools and write to the Principal of the High School you would be likely to attend. Ask his/her advice about completing studies in Australia and what requirements there are for you to do so.

Hi Chris, Don't be put off by negative comments, you sound well adjusted and determined, so follow your dreams and go for it.

Remember, Sir Richard Branson followed his dreams at your age against all the odds.

And if you have family here, and can get a part time job, say at macca's or kfc, you can survive reasonably well, providing your student visa allows it.

Good luck in what ever you do!

Hi Chris! Yes you will love it here. But I agree with Kang Kung, you need more money. Can you hit your parents up for the air fare? Ask your family here if you can stay with them for 6 months? Then go to school/get a job here?
I hope you get here- its great. Good luck.
PS- ask for help! and don't lose that passion.

Save hard, maybe get a part time job? If you have family here, then staying with them would cut back on living costs. Good luck!

You arent too young but on £7 quid a week, I would take swimming lessons as thats the only way you'll be crossing an ocean.

Good luck though

well, since your wish to Australia is very strong. Here are some recommendation for you.

Try to secure around 10,000 pound as the living cost in Ausssie in very high.

Better to continue your A-level in UK. And move to Aussie to continue your higher education.

All the best!
