Nice open ended question with no real answer. So, I'll give you the same answer everyone else gives to this type of question. The car will last as long as you maintain and repair it. The new Accents are pretty good small cars with a nice 5 yr 60K warranty and should easily go past 100K miles without any major repairs. Yes, the price is reasonable and unless you plan to sell it a year later it is a great value. Truth is, only Japanese cars don't lose a ton of value in those 1st 3 years of ownership. Hyundai has over 700 dealers in the USA now, so getting service/parts is not an issue. Hyundai is ranked ahead of Toyota and Honda for initial quality by JD Power and #7 out of 36 in reliability by Consumer Reports. I don't think there are any American cars in this price range new.

Actually Hyundai Accents are quite reliable, I am the service manager for a Hyundai dealer and have been for over 8 years now. I also held the same position for an Acura (honda) dealer and while there is little doubt Honda makes really reliable cars Hyundais are quickly catching up to both Honda and Toyota (see Consumer Reports) I have a technician here who has a 1996 Accent with 213,000 miles on it and he has only done routine maint on it. Do yourself a favor and don't ovelook Hyundai

I still see many 1993 Accents on the road. I had an Accent, and since then, I have bought 2 more Elantras, one for me, and one for my Son. While it is true that they don't hold their value over the years as much as some cars, if you are buying these cars to keep until they drop, you still save money overall in the long run.

i had been driving hyundai excel some yrs back. although buying hyundai is cheaper you must look for the cost of maintaining it. it is ok for few years but wil start to give problem after a few years. i had to replace the sprare parts one by one as it broke down quite often. it is not as reliable as other japanese car.

quality wise, any Hyundai built before 2005 is a bad idea.
and as for reasonable price..., Hyundais have low resale value.
you'll get it cheap when you buy it, but you'll get close to nothing when you sell it. so, that's not cheap.
