i started dieting and exercising for real like 2 weeks ago so and im not expecting to see results yet, but i was wondering, should I cut out diet soda? (yes i know it causes cancer blah blah but i'm wondering about the weight issue). I was thinking about it, and I realized I started gaining weight about the same time I started drinking diet soda? what do you guys think?

I have been feeling bad for about a week--ever since the A/C broke and we've kept the windows open and ceiling fans on in stifling heat.

Here are the symptoms: Early in the week, my eyes were extremely itchy. That's gone away. Then I developed an intermittent wheezy cough for about the last four days. I wake up each morning with swollen neck glands and produce deep yellow phlegm (that the shower helps dislodge). My throat is scratchy. And I am feeling very fatigued.

Any guesses? (I had mono twenty years ago, but I assume you can get it again just from generally being run down.)

In addition, whenever our kindergartner wakes up in the middle of the night, she seems to believe that something/everything is going to get her, so we have to calm her down. And our cat gives 4 a.m. wake up calls when I forget to lock him out. So there's been inadequte sleep lately.

I was just wondering...

It seems to me that EVERY YEAR USA is ALWAYS in at least the Top 5 category, it is a given that she wil always be.

Does anyone know if there was a year that USA was NOT?

I am currently renting an apartment with an office and fairly large master bedroom. My only complaint is the lack of overhead lighting in these rooms. Since there is no possible way for me to add overhead lighting due to the construction/leasing agreement, can you recommend some effective (and reasonably priced) solutions? I am the type of person who likes a very well-lit house (not dim lighting b/c it makes me sleepy/tired)...
