There's a lot who treat them seriously, but most read them just for fun. I know that I only read them for fun because some times they hit the mark, othertimes they're not close.

It depends on what you mean by horoscope as there are many different sorts. I take you mean the ones that can be found in daily publications - yes people do believe them and if thats what works for them, it's all good. As an astrologer I don't bother with those for the simple reason that they cannot possibly be accurate. The transits mean different things for each different person based on date, place and time of birth. Ones done daily in publications can really only ever give a very broad based clue for each sign and of course you can never tell which are genuine and which are not.

Gossip mags are a waste of valuable tree and carbon as well ;)
Anyway, I don't believe in the daily horoscopes - or the weekly ones or monthly ones. But I am an Astrologer.

Lots of people swear by them, some claim to read them for entertainment (like a fortune cookie) and still others say they read them for entertainment, but really at least partially believe them. The actual science of Astrology (which does exist, but I'm not saying it is real) demands more information about date and time of birth etc. The trick with people believing in the newspaper ones is that they make it so general that you could read anything into it if you want it to apply to you badly enough. By the way, when I say "you", I don't mean you, but the universal you.

I don't believe the everyday horoscopes, but I do believe that the day you were born means alot about the type of person you are. Everyone I know fits their individual sign except one person, which is my daughter in law. She is a Sagittarius, but since she is on the cusp, she could have more Capricorn in her as well, but I have friends that are all signs and get along with everyone else. Linda Goodman's "Sun Signs" is really a good book and very accurate describing peoples signs.

I don't believe in horoscopes.
I do believe in astrology. Horoscopes are a joke, they aren't real astrology.
