You should have no trouble fitting in at all. In fact, there is a very large population of former New Yorkers in the valley (second only to Californians). There will be things you miss, the food isn't as good (close, but not quite), very little culture outside of the acts that the casinos bring in, virtually no reliable mass transit and there are no professional sports teams. The good news is that Las Vegas is a 24 hour town, just like NY, and the nightlife is active. One word of caution, living in Las Vegas is quite a bit different than visiting. The luster wears off when you are faced with the realities of Vegas. I have seen many a person move to the valley only to be ruined by whatever particular vice they have; gambling, drugs, booze, sex etc. If you have a little willpower and like hot summers and mild winters, you should do just fine

Fashion modeling is min, here, T he summers are very hot and dry, Jobs are not as easy to get as they used to be we have around 2millon folks in this valley now, free ways are jammed, crime is up, { not wanting to burst your bubble} food is fair, people are into their own things here. Not as friendly as back East. I would rent a place Before Buying here, Make sure after 6 mts. you really like it. Lol
