Why does white wine cause excessive yawning-at least with me? Pinot Grigio, dry white to be exact.

All right. I've been seing some weird (polite for stupid) questions on R & S. All day, I've been thinking, "are they off their meds?"
Well, here's another weird (stupid) one.
Did somebody turn ON the "stupid" button today?

it started out typical he asked me for my number...he called we would talk on the phone every night first for a half hour than 45 min then up to 2 hours. finally we made it offical and couldnt get enough of each other...talked everyday...texted all the time...he told me he loved me, and i loved him but i never told him back because i was scared. so i broke up with him because i didnt wanna rush things. i didnt wanna get hurt again(i told my last guy i loved him and he cheated on me!)
Now i regret it. should i call him up, let him know how i feel? or jus let it go. its been about 4 months since we broke up and im still thinkin about him. i miss him.

Hello. Recently I have been interested with martial arts. Currently I am looking for a style that is good mesh for my abilities. I am currently 14 years old. I have am 5'9, 175 pounds and possess a muscular body type. Despite my muscle, I believe I am very flexible, because I can put both legs behind my legs and I my nose can touch the heel of my foot without much pain nor effot. In addition, my bones (or muscle) are very dense because I can hit things that tend to hurt or break my friends' bones. My parents say I'm pretty strong so I joined my high school's wrestling team. Though I am doing well for a rookie, I don't like grapples that much. I prefer strikes. To the best my reculection, when I was ever in a physical conflict, my street style has been defensive as well as offensive from techniques I have emulated from various sources. When I practice with my friends they claim that I am pretty loose when I'm evading and stiff when I am attacking. So which martial art is better for me?

When I was 7 yrs old back in 1967, my aunt took my mom downtown to pay a bill. My cousins and I sat in the car, listening to the radio. A song came on, "Son of a preacher man". To my knowledge, there is nothing racially derrogatory about the lyrics of this song. But around the second chorus, some angry black woman of about 25 came to the car and stuck her head through the window and yelled, "Shut up, you little white b.itches!". None of us were over the age of 11. So...what we do to warrant that? Is there some hidden meaning in those lyrics that a white person wouldn't be aware of? To this day, I'll turn the radio off if I hear this song because it reminds me of this incident and pi.ss.es me off. So who was wrong? Us kids or the woman?

The idea that God is a made-up concept to soothe our fears makes no sense, since we reject the existence of other made-up figures that might also make us feel better. A comparison between the existence of God (a non-contingent being) and the existence of Santa Claus or invisible pink unicorns (contingent beings) fails on many levels, not the least of which is that their fundamental natures (non-physical vs. physical) are vastly different. The idea that there is no evidence to support the existence of God is clearly false. The evidence was clear enough for me to convert from agnosticism to deism in the absence of efforts by theists.Philosophical arguments like invisible pink unicorns are great ways to avoid examining evidence, but such an approach is ultimately dishonest.

I mean, if there weren’t any doubts, all the scientific facts that contradict their unproven beliefs would not even be acknowledged, right? True believers would not even have to attempt to refute any science because they are so certain about their beliefs. So come on guys; logic has entered your minds and though you try to push him away, he just wants to help you.

The folks at the lumber yard told me people typically use untreated Douglas Fir to make outdoor patios. I'm wondering why I shouldn't use more durable treated wood.

Why would someone possibly not want to be called, "muffin" in public?? "Pop Tart" I can understand, but, "muffin???" It's not like I'm calling her, "ho bag," or something. Don't get me wrong, I fully respect her wishes and never use this term of endearment when we are around others (aside from the occasional slip up), but I just don't understand why she has this attitude. She should be flattered! The worst thing is when I start to call her, "muffin," then realize it after I have already said, "muff," needless to say, I can't stop there, so I have to ad lib something, like, "Mufflers are so important, especially in a neighborhood setting." People are starting to think I'm crazy! Can someone please explain this to me?
