I am working in the jewelry industry and was wondering how this reaction is working. We frequently clean tarnished silver with a bowl of water lined with aluminum foil, hot water, baking soda, a pinch of salt and a little dishwashing liquid. I have a little chemistry in my background and figure it is an oxidation/reduction reaction. I am curious to exactly what happens and how it is working. Also, are there any other effective methods for cleaning tarnished silver jewelry?

Some time ago, someone asked why his friend who was JW would no longer hang out with him like he used to and watch football etc. just because he wasn't JW.

My answer was:

"Sad but true, they will be polite to you and preach to you but will not associate with you on any meaningful level unless you decide to join their sect because they think non-Witnesses are bad associations."

Now I know this is true because I read it in their own literature and I once had a JW girl in my daughter's high school who did not have any friends and her parents would not let her go out with the other girls or have sleep-overs etc, even though these were parental supervised and safe.

So why do JWs thumbs down you when a non-JW tells it like it is? Isn't it TRUE that non-witnesses are considered bad associations and no relationship must be encouraged with them beyond basic civil interaction and preaching?

Why is it bad when I say it? Is it because I am a non-Witness?

My mom has a boyfriend who is taking her money, she wires him money and all he wants is money. She claims she is happy with him eventhough she might get ripped off. HE has her debit card and has made over $1,000 in purchases( in just one week) but my mom is ok with it. SHe thinks i dont love her and i dont want her to be happy, because i asked her why she was sending him money, she got really upset. Long story, i apologized for questioning her finances and butting in her bank account (i saw it on line). I was only looking out for her. Now she tells me her boyfriend feels offended and wants an apology from me. How can i tell her hell fu** no I am not apologizing to his sorry asss. I hate him for takind advantage and my mom for letting him. I would never apologize even if he gave the money back or supported her. He needs to prove my mom he will take care of her, not just her money. ANy suggestions? My mom is blind i know. I dont live with her im 23

I am asking an honest question, and I would like for only those who are serious to explain to me, why killing a baby, a fetus, or cells, whatever you want to call them, is okay, but not for the US military to protect, defend, and honor their country, and the American people they love?
Some of you say the Conservative government is murdering American soldier's, but those same people, usually Liberals have abortions, or say it is okay to abort a baby, who have no power to fight their killer's, like an American soldier does. Please explain the difference? Thanks.
