They can't just play on weekends because it would take forever to complete the series. It could then take three weekends plus one day of the fourth in a seven game series. So, weekday are also included. The ratings will probably be the same no matter what day the games are played.

Chow guy - it is starting on a Wednesday, not playing only on weekends.
Anyway - my guess is Roger Clemens was busy on that Saturday, so he asked them to move it. Because we all know that what the Yankees want, the Yankees get.
