First, let me say that I am not a jealous or vindictive person...and I have tried to always do things in my daughter's best interest. However, I feel the very essence of my motherhood is as stake, things keep getting worse. The down and dirty of the situation is that my ex's new wife broke up my marriage when I was pregnant. That positioned her to be my daughter's #2 Mommy from the time my daughter was 6 months old. My daughter is now almost 5 and she doesn't seem to differentiate between the other woman and myself. To make matters worse, they keep seeking more and more visitation with her. I don't mind my daughter having a relationship with her dad. I just want her to know that I am her mom. She's my only child and probably always will be my only child. My ex and his new wife have no children of their own...and since we're in our mid-30s, I'm not sure they ever will. Please don't say that my daughter will know I'm her mom in time...because I can't be sure of that.

It's should be the responsibility of the people who represent them to put all important issues before them and then, let the people decide. I consider important issues as those that will effect people most directly and signifigantly, like our nations security, crime, gas prices, perscription drug prices, taxes, jobs etc. Such legislation can and should be simplified and shortened. Get the lawyers language which is only used to create loupe holes out of Capitol Hill. If in the end, the majority is wrong, then all will have to shoulder the burdon for their mistakes. But, it's their mistake, not the representatives. I would put the ball in their court. If they want change, they'd have to get off the couch and finally get involved. That's what true Democracy is all about. When I was very young, my father and mother taught me to accept the consequences for my mistakes whether I liked it or not. The voters have to be accurately educated to the issues. I

These animals (yes even microfauna are animals) all deserve the same respect surely, or is their some elitist thing going on with cats and dogs? Are they more inclined to be pests? I have to tell you that here are more complaints of cats & dogs as 'pests' than wasps in our local council Environmental section. Just what is this hypocritical behaviour? Food-chain-snobbery I reckon. And low rational cognition in pet owners.

It seems to me that there are farmers all around the world who could benefit from having thier own stills to produce ethanol for thier trucks and tractors/machinery.

I just upgraded my ATT / SBC Yahoo DSL to a faster line & its slower. I have a Linksys Wireless G 2.4 GHZ router (WRT54G) and a Siemans Modem 4100.

When I connect directly to the modem its faster but slows down when I go wireless thru the router. I've been on the phone for hrs with ATT and Linksys and still can't figure this out.

I have a desktop and a laptop connected to the wireless network and I have a security WEP set up so no one else is cluttering the line.

Can it be that I need a new router? or WHAT ELSE CAN IT BE?
Its slower than 54mbs when I went to speed test it was 6.3 kbbs, it takes literally minutes to load.

Wireless connection says EXCELLENT. I have had this connection for over a year and just started having this problem.

Wireless is in same room. I already tried turning everything on and off several times. I even reset my router and moved it to 11.

I appreciate any suggestions.

this is not an advert, more a survey - I want to know whether there's any interest out there :)

I own a motorbike - CZ 125cc, 4 speed transmission, year 1964 - a proper veteran amongst East Europe bikes. more info here:

http://www.100megsfree3.com/ahrmanw/CZmx.htm

it's a bit rusty here and there, but still works. A very nice piece to have if you're into veteran / vintage bikes.

So, the question - would you buy it & how much are you willing to spend?

Please no £1 offers or similar :).

thanks!

I entered into an agreement with a friend/boyfriend that he would lend me $3700 for me to pay off a few credit card debts etc to improve my credit, and I would pay him $100 a month until it was paid off (including interest). I received the check on a Thursday, deposited it into my account and the check cleared my bank on Friday. All of the funds were there for me to use. I sent off my checks to my credit card companies, and as far as I was concerned everything was fine.

That Sunday, he called me and told me he had canceled the check...my heart sunk. He had made me in essence write $3700 in bad checks! My question is whether or not he can stop payment on that check even though I have used part of the money? If the bank didn't have the money, why would they have let me use the funds? My mom is going to be depositing the $3700 in my bank account today to keep me from having all of these bad checks which would probably lead to a criminal matter...but wow can he do this?
