"No. Absolutely. I totally agree with you."

Don't you just hate it when people use these phrases/words?

People that start sentences with "I mean…" and "Obviously…" and the word "No…" which has to begin any statement of agreement. STOP IT!

I've noticed it on TV, in the office, on the street. It really makes me cringe.

Definitely. No. Absolutely. I mean. Don't you agree?

I ask because I cannot access certain pages on a web site. When I visited on of these pages today, it said that I did not have any access privilege. So, I cleared my cookies, temporary files, and history and I still can't get on. (1) Do you think this is a real IP ban? (2) Do you know of any way of circumventing one from the same IP address (i.e. your home)?

Apparently it's quite common! I don't, and I don't think any of my friends do... but just wondering how common it actually is! I hope this doesn't become the norm any time soon, what a hassle.

Is it easier to convert somebody from a third-world country? I'm not talking about from one sect to another, I mean from one religion or belief system to another one.

Is it easier? Why or why not?
Is it because the converted get food and maybe shelter or help that they wouldn't normally get?
Is it because they see somebody from a succesful country and assume they are more sophisticated and must therefore be correct in belief?
Is it their ignorance? Can't that go both ways? They never heard about the faith(good things)/they never heard about the faith (bad things)

What do you think?

In the title of a book I read "Paris, a town, a European history".
Shouldn't it be .... "a European story"??? Is the word History countable as well and can it be used with the article A, as a consequence? Can it be used instead of STORY when one recounts the facts of past events, in this case about Paris? I thought there was a mistake and it should have been said "Paris, a town, a European Story"? Am I right or totally ignorant of English usage? Thanks.

One of the biggest lies in the entire history of India has been that of the so called "Aryan Invasion Theory".
This theory was first introduced to the world by the British, when they ruled India, and it's purpose was to keep Indian society divided in order to make it easier for them to rule.

The theory itself argues that ancient Indian society was ruled by Dravidians and there that there was a huge invasion by "Aryans" who were from Russia and central Asia. The theory argues that these Aryans brought the Vedic religion to India. The British also cooked up some stupid idea that all Brahmins and fair skinned Indians were of Aryan descent and all "lower caste" Indians and dark skinned Indians were of Dravidian descent.

The Aryan Invasion Theory is one of the biggest myths propagated about Indian history. Not only has there been no scientific / archaeological evidence to corroborate the Aryan Invasion theory, but furthermore, there has been an abundance of evidence to refute it.

Dr. Craig has debated such people as Antony Flew, Bart Ehrman and John Dominic Crossan, and holds degrees from Wharton, Trinity Theological Seminary, University of Munich and other institutions.

Prof. Dawkins has refused to debate Dr. Craig, remarking "It wouldn’t look very good on my CV would it?"

What is your spin on Prof. Dawkins' remark, or his reasons for not entering into dialouge with people who disagree with him?
