Have ya got lots of insurance? Are you ready to leave your spouse and kids? Are you ready to have your spouse 'entertained' by others, in ways you would not approve of? What did your doctor tell you about smoking?
When I had a heart cath and a stent implaced, I quit smoking and have not smoked for nearly 7 years..
but, hey, it's up to you... just make sure your will is made out and your spouse knows where all the important papers are..

NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!! Apparently the surgery did not make a big enough impression on you.
The diseases smoking causes can cause your death to be long and horrible. I watched my father die of Emphysema, NO lung cancer, for 8 years. He had smoked for 68 years.
By the end he could not get enough oxygen into his brain to think, his ears to hear or his eyes to see. He knew no one at the end. Should you want to die like this keep it up.
Oh yes even insurance companies can cancel your treatment.
Do some research get smart about your medical problems and the problems of smokers.

I would strongly suggest that you make a decision to stop for good. I did, and it was the best move I ever made. I feel so much better. I have a lot better blood pressure, my lungs have cleared up really well, I have way more wind, and everything tastes better. I have a history of heart related things in my family, so my doctor said anyone predisposed to that should by all means NOT SMOKE. PLEASE QUIT !! Then we all get to talk to you a lot more on here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did your mother have any children with a brain that lived? smoking is definetly linked to heart disease, and closely to lung problems. you are at the best moment for quiting all together. do it. there are financial rewards, health rewards, and peace of mind to consider for yourself.
nicotine is an extremely powerful addictive drug, but its addictive nature can be overcome. there are some orgs in your area which are on a mission to help you quit - often for free. get in touch with one, they will work with you and your doctor.
now, is it ok for you to smoke. sure, this is as good a time to slowly begin killing yourself, since you are going to die anyway.

No smoking allowed, but for the real scoop, ask your heart doctor.

The effects of nicotine go against all human logic and the instinct to survive. I sympathise with your situation, but I cannot condone it, having been a smoker myself until recently.
