do you get insecure with your looks?

its just men seem to be more judging on how ugly or pretty someone is.. if they are or feel ugly.. they dont really have much room to talk.. therefore theoretically they must be secure with their looks

I think men suffer just as much from low self-esteem. I think it just manifests differently. Women usually do harm to themselves when they feel insecure (eating disorders, bad relationships) whereas men, and this is strictly an opinion, usually do harm to others (criticizing people, becoming controlling in relationships).

I don't know if thats true or not...I think both sexes struggle with low self esteem, due mostly to the media, celebrities, ect. Men are judged for other qualities however, like the job they have, or how popular they are socially. Women, on the other hand are often judged solely on their looks, regardless of their bank account or social status. This is in part due to our playboy culture, the idea that woman can sit still and look pretty and pick up a rich buissnesman often enough. Women unfortunately, are objectified.

I think that if you judge someone on looks, whether you are male or female, it is because you feel you are lacking something. If you are secure and content with yourself, there is NO reason to judge anyone. And yes, men are just as bad as women when it comes to looks, in my experience, sometimes worse!

I'm sure they do because alot of men/boys are shallow so they see themselves worse than they are and because of presure from mates, espisihly if most of them have gfs and they dont , men and women are exactly the same when it comes to relationships, some women are shallow and slutty some men are shallow and jerks, some women are kind and un shallow, some men are caring and unshallow, think about what you want and there will be some man out there who wants exactly the same (unless your into hairy chests, YUK)

I'm not sure that they do and I haven't given it much thought until I saw your question. I think that women in general are put under much more pressure than men and a lot of that pressure comes from your own gender.

I know lots of guys that suffer with very low self esteem and have such hang ups about their looks and shape, but that's probably because they have feelings too.

Deffinately. I have larger male friends who are quite touchy about it and as for myself, I'm fairly slim so I'd love to be able to take my top off without people being able to count my ribs. We're all supposed to be toned and muscular, 6ft tall or above with chiseled jaw etc.

Of course we do, I'm writing this to you with a bag over my head!! Please tell me you like the bag? You'll find that there are sensitive men and alpha males, avoid alpha males at all costs as they have an arrogance that is repellent.
Learning to like yourself is the key, I like yourself!

Definitely not. That's a typical female issue.
