I'm tired of everyone saying "Why didn't you people get the heck out of there!" Please read this and consider it.



Scenario 1:
Imagine that you are poor. You have no car. You have no television. In fact, the only contact with the outside world you have is your neighbor a mile away that has an old radio that barely works.

POP QUIZ! How are you supposed to know of anything coming, and if you do know, how are you supposed to get out?


Scenario 2:
Imagine that you are middle-class now. You live near a very large city, and your city shares the same small interstate. The mayor of the neighboring city orders a mandatory evacuation, which makes at least 1/4 of the population leave. Your news station reports that traffic is moving at about a mile an hour. The storm will be here in twenty-four hours.

POP QUIZ! Which is safer, a house three miles inland, or a car 27 miles inland?



Please stop the ignorance and recognize that there were some things stopping people from evacuating

If someone greets you with "How are you?" What do you say in return? Many times people have a pat answer they give, like "Doin' good." or "As well as can be expected." or "Fine." A favorite I used to hear was, "Fair to middlin' on a partly cloudy day." That always makes me laugh. Anyway, I was recently asked, "How are you today?" and my normal response is "Good. And you?". He said "Good. ...Well, I mean, I'm well. But I'm glad you're doing good." Some other people were around and they sort of chuckled and said, "What's the difference?" He went on to give his opinion of the differences between the two. This spurred me to look up the definition of the two words - "well" and "good", and it seems that it is considered a mark of poor upbringing to say you are "good" (as we are discussing it here), and it is considered a mark of better upbringing to say you are "well".

So what do you think? Is it ok to say you are "Doin' good", or should you say something else? What do you say?

i'm going to be 15 in two months, and i'm getting braces in a couple of weeks!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE i know who has had braces has gotten them off, i will be the only person i know who still has braces!! but my real problelm is that i'm really scared, does it really hurt, for how long, and is 18 months a long time to have them on?

i filed my NY tax (state and federal) with my accountant around end of March. I received my Federal tax return but havent received my State tax yet. i received my federal couple of weeks after i filed my tax but havent had state tax. its been around 4 weeks since i received my state tax return... did u guys got your State tax return yet?

ok so as you may or may not know I am a kinda a new music artist and I wanted to mix up the voices on my album some, So I found this solo artist who is really good and I liked his style so I asked for a collab. I paid him 100 dollers to be featured on HIS song [the beat he bought from another producer, he wrote the chorus/first veres/and last veres, and I got the middle] I also have emails from him saying its ok for me to put it on any CD I want and make money off of it and he dosent expect any more money then the 100 dollers already paid. Will emails hold up in cort? can he still sue me later if he wants? and how long does he have to act legally??? can anyone help?

Much is made about Bush's Grand Father supposedly funding Hitler. If true that is horrific. But did Bush or his Father do it?
Quick Quiz: Does anyone know where the Gore Family Money Came From? Mr. Environment and Health?
Answer: Tobacco. Has he given the money all away to fund and Fight Global Warming? Nope.
Do they still take the Government Subsidies given to Tobacco Farmers? Hmmmmmmm.

Now, I don't blame Gore and any attempt to do so would be silly, as he is not active in it anymore (To my knowledge).
So, why do you hold Bush accountable for his Grand Father.
I mean it would only make sense to list BOTH as Villains if BOTH Grand Father's contributed as killers?????
