It seesm like it is always so crowded and I have two small children. Where would be a good place for us to plant ourselves to see the whole show?

The best place I have found is actually on the RIGHT side of the Rivers of America, by the Golden Horseshoe. The volume is considerably less there, and still a decent view.
Of course, the best view is from the Balcony of Club 33. But did you know you don't have to be a big shot to get that kind of view? You can reserve a spot on the balcony at the Disney Gallery for a price. Dessert is served, and is quite good. However, you must pay for the privilege. The Fantasmic show starts again June 16, and you can make reservations up to 30 days in advance, so that would be Thursday, May 17! It's cool to do once. Make friends with an employee and ask them. Many people camp out for hours to get a spot! I've heard that Club 33 has the best view, but of course you really have to know somebody to get in there! I would say somewhere towards the Cafe Orleans side but closer to the water. Maybe by the raised platform wherethe pirates perform earlier in the day. You may be better off coming at the last minute and finding an ok spot that no one has thought to claim as of yet. Even if you went and found a spot early, once the show starts, inevitably someone will stand in your child's way once the show starts! You can go to that area a couple of hours before the show and take them on Winie The Pooh, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, the Tree House... plenty to keep you busy until the show starts! I'm jealous because I want to go!! Have fun!!!

We always try to grab dinner at the River Belle Terrace (right across from Pirates). If you time it right, you can get a table on the edge outside and eat your food while you watch the show.

Watch it behind the Haunted Mansion In front of the river. But you gotta get there first than anyone for a real good view! ^.^
Your kids can grab hold of the rail bars so they can see better. :)

i been there so many times...
in the middle, like in front of the pirates, but until you reach the railing.
you might get wet... but who cares you are wacthing fanstatic!!:D
