My best friend's dad passed away late February from lung cancer. I have been best friends with her for over 11 years, since we were 5 years old. However since her dad passed she won't speak to me. I took basically a week off of school helping her and her mom with funeral plans and picture slide shows of this wonderful man. I worked the day that they had a party in celebration of his life, I held her mom when she cried, but my friend didn't cry but once in front of me. I really don't understand her ways of grieving. The man was like an uncle to me, a second father and her mother is my mother. And she is my sister. So not only did i lose a father, it's like i lost a whole part of my family. My friend won't answer the phone when i call her, and her mother won't answer my mothers. What can i do to help her? What can I do to have her back in my life?

Long story... I have 2 large dogs. Both about 100 lbs each. One has to have his food left out all day because he has Addison's disease and he must be allowed to eat whenever he likes so he does not get stressed. His specialized food is also very expensive, about $38 per bag. I am watching the other dog for a friend for a few months. His regular food is a much cheaper retail brand. The visiting dog keeps sneaking and eating my dog's expensive food. He used to just sneak & eat it at night when everyone was asleep. We have since put the expensive food up at night, but now he sneaks around and gets it in the daytime, when my dog is not near his food. I have tried verbally scolding the visiting dog when I caught him doing this and he ran into another room and hid and threw up because I guess I upset him, but later he went and got the food again. I felt really bad and I don't know what else to do.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can stop this? I'm stumped!

This is a question for those who design homes or residential structures too ...... if you are going to rebuild your homes .....

HAVE YOU THOUGHT TO TRY A NEW MILLENNIUM TORNADO-PROOF DESIGN FOR YOUR NEXT HOME?

I'm not an architect or building designer and I don't even live in a tornado zone, but I was wondering ... isn't it possible for victims of the recent, horribly destructive tornados, who want to rebuild and still want to live in their area, to find a more effective, 21st century structure to live in, in "Tornado Alley" and anywhere else tornados appear?

Has anyone thought of building a hurricane-proof home at least partially subterranean, or with a solid basement for their new home or at least a sturdy "Safe Room?" This, I feel would allow people to live where they want but lose less in the next disaster. I just don't think it would be prudent to build a home that will easily be knocked down AGAIN if another tornado comes around.

What will you do?

The movie was like from the 60s or early 70s and it had a large mural painting of what i am guessing is Mt. Fuji in the foreground and in lieu of a sky, it is the old Japanese flag (rising sun, the one that is red with the red light-rays). I can't remember what movie it was or anything else about it, but does anyone have any clues or places i may look to find a picture of this piece?

yesterday i was sitting in my car [2000 Eclipse GT 5speed] with the engine running for a few minutes, forgot that it was on, and as i was about to leave i turned the key to start my car up, and realized it was already on by the loud grinding/crunching sound. i drove to a nearby store, turned the car off, and 5 minutes later came back, and ever since then my car wont start or even turn over. could this have completely killed my starter permanently? i read on yahoo something about the solenoid being "seized" or stuck in the "start" position, and a good tap with a hammer can put it back to normal. do you know anything about this? i am planning on removing the starter and taking to advance auto parts to have tested, but even if it comes up as a "bad" starter, can i cure it with a hammer or something simple? and if it comes up as a "good" starter, is it still possible that it could be showing "good" on the test because only the solenoid is messed up? PLEASE help, i have no ride now.

"Coinstar" machines take 7% of everything you cash in, so that's not a very good option. If I take it to the bank, does it have to be rolled?

Micheal Jackon sold 25 million copies of Thriller and it was number 1 for 39 consecutive weeks. So far he's sold about 50 million copies of the same album. He's had more than 20 songs on the top number one spot in billboard and is a pionner of the music industry. He's been is the music business for over 30 years and still continues to be a music icon. He's won more grammys that any other artist today. He's not only a good singer but a great composer and choreographer and no one dances like him. Even the best singers today don't even get close to Michael Jackson album sales. He has influenced and inspired many other singers like Justin Timberlake, P Diddy, Beyonce, and Usher just to name a few. He has influenced and reach the hearts of followers from around the world from different ages. Even the most famous artists today don't even come close to his sales or fame.
Do you really think that any other artist will ever beat Michael Jackson's record.

And so today I discovered a site called TMDMOVIEZ.COM which offers movies for download. I went on their IRC channel and there seems to be a lot of people on. And there also seems to be lots of people on their site judging by their counter, but are the movies really legal to download?

I don't want to be caught and sued or anything like that. Will I get caught? I'm really disturbed by this, but I really want to see this old movie which I can't seem to find anywhere else... Should I just forget about it and look for a place that sells the dvd or something?

I've heard that India by 2050 will have major problems with driniking water, that may cause regional conflicts.

I'm no scientist but how difficult is it to de-salinize ocean water into drinking water. Can we not spend more money on that instead of other stuff we spend money on?

In Catalina, California, they de-salinize the ocean water for their supply. In some rich Arab countries they do the same, so why don't we as a world do the same thing?

I've talked to a number of people from various nations (other than the US)

A lot of people seem to feel the US can not continue as it is - spending billion and trillions in Iraq when they are no more than a faction in a civil war trying to support their side (the current government)

That the US is falling from the inside with deep political divisions and poverty being the rule for the majority

Massive racial tension( Who was it that said Bush doesn't care about black people after Katrina?).

A seemingly continuous amount of naural disasters from hurricanes to tornadoes floods forest fires mud slides etc that have cost multiple millions in infrastructure and human life
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok the news only covers the bad stuff because thats what sells papers - Thats what people will wait around to watch on TV
Is the US in massive trouble and on the brink of collapse and or civil war -

True/false ?
