My best friend's dad passed away late February from lung cancer. I have been best friends with her for over 11 years, since we were 5 years old. However since her dad passed she won't speak to me. I took basically a week off of school helping her and her mom with funeral plans and picture slide shows of this wonderful man. I worked the day that they had a party in celebration of his life, I held her mom when she cried, but my friend didn't cry but once in front of me. I really don't understand her ways of grieving. The man was like an uncle to me, a second father and her mother is my mother. And she is my sister. So not only did i lose a father, it's like i lost a whole part of my family. My friend won't answer the phone when i call her, and her mother won't answer my mothers. What can i do to help her? What can I do to have her back in my life?

Perhaps they simply need time to grieve alone.

let her be... it is a withdrawal syndrome.. she withdraws to people around her... it is her reaction to the death of her father... just understand her.. it is not easy in her part... help her.. ask her how you can help her.. silence is really dangerous... you do not know what's going on in her mind.. ask help from her mom also
