ICXC - The first and last letters of the monogram of Christ: Iesous Christos (Ihcouc Xpictoc in Greek, or "Jesus Christ"). The index finger forms "I," the thumb and middle finger form "C," the thumb and ring-finger form "X," and the pinky and thumb form the final "C." The hand form represents that the blessing is perfomed in the name of Jesus Christ, in the shape of the cross.
