Micheal Jackon sold 25 million copies of Thriller and it was number 1 for 39 consecutive weeks. So far he's sold about 50 million copies of the same album. He's had more than 20 songs on the top number one spot in billboard and is a pionner of the music industry. He's been is the music business for over 30 years and still continues to be a music icon. He's won more grammys that any other artist today. He's not only a good singer but a great composer and choreographer and no one dances like him. Even the best singers today don't even get close to Michael Jackson album sales. He has influenced and inspired many other singers like Justin Timberlake, P Diddy, Beyonce, and Usher just to name a few. He has influenced and reach the hearts of followers from around the world from different ages. Even the most famous artists today don't even come close to his sales or fame.
Do you really think that any other artist will ever beat Michael Jackson's record.

Thriller has sold like 104 million copies. Due to downloading, CD/MP3 copying and other means to access albums, it will be years if not decades before anyone beats that records. I believe it will be beat. Probably in about 40 years.

So show you how good Thriller was the next biggest second has sold 40 million copies (Thriller beats its next biggest seller by more then 230%).

There is no way any artist today is going to sell that many hard CD's.

But if they count entire albums downloaded on the internet as "sales", then I guess it could be possible for somebody of the stature of Carrie Underwood, whose popularity crosses the lines to include pop fans and country fans. But that's the only way.

I highly doubt any of todays artists will top Michael Jackson but maybe someone in the future might even though it's highly unlikely!

Yes and probably some have already. In the United States, that probably will never happen for a long time. In India and China where there are over 1 billion people in each country, I think it could be very common.

I am not sure of that, really. Does online music bought count? If so, then perhaps some other artists will
