Do you do it? Why do people flush 4-5 times just to cover up the sound of a fart? It's a bathroom...what kind of noises do you think are going to be made in there? I think it's ridiculous.

One of my friends invited me to her wedding but on the invitation says "No boxed gifts" probably because after the wedding she will be moving to another state. I was thinking about giving her money (cash), or a gift card for a national retailer on a congratualations card, but I don't know what would be best, well mannered or how much.

Any suggestions?? How much should I give her??

I've always thought Greek is a general term until I read that the Greek attacked the Troys.

Are the Troys part-Greek? What are the other "parts"? I've heard of Athens and Sparta. Which one ruled last?

If you have detailed references it would be great!

thank you so much!

AntiSemitism as Jew-Hate has been one of the ugly undercurrents( and even legal ,encouraged and overt in many times and places) in many cultures. What do you think? Where you are, is antisemitism getting worse? How can we personally help inshrinking the social illness that resulted in the Nazi Holocaust?

I am an atheist, but I don't discuss religion or politics at work. Yesterday, I was talking with this lady I work with, very nice, very religious lady. She was telling me, "_______, you are always so kind to me, I will be praying for you and your family. You and your husband are such a blessing to me. Your marriage inspires me. I will be praying for spiritual gifts for you. Now, don't smile, my prayers are heard."

I said "Thank you."

Was it horrible and wrong of me not to set her straight on my beliefs?

He is only 27, has NEVER been injured. People are talking about his miles, WTF!? He didn't play much or start till his senior year of both high school or college, and his 3rd year in the NFL. That's like four years of high school beating.....

He ran behind one of the worst lines in the NFL(270 pound Kyle turley, kevin sampson, jordan black, WTF), far worse than LTs, last year, and still dominated.

Rumor has it LJ is wanting a contract what LT signed (8 year, 60 mil). Chiefs are looking to maybe trade LJ.

What do you think LJ is worth in contract, and what do you think he is worth in trade compensation?

A man was in a terrible accident, and his "manhood" was mangled and torn from his body. His doctor assured him that modern medicine could give him back his manhood, but that his insurance wouldn't cover the surgery since it was considered cosmetic. The
doctor said the cost would be $3,500 for "small", $6,500 for
"medium", $14,000 for "large".

The man was sure he would want a medium or large, but the doctor
urged him to talk it over with his wife before he made any
decision. The man called his wife on the phone and explained their options. The doctor came back into the room, and found the man looking dejected.

Well, what have the two of you decided?" asked the doctor.

The man answered, "She'd rather remodel the kitchen."

If so, is it possible that we should reexamine our moral code? A friend of mine suggested that it is not enough to know what we want, but that it would help if we knew why we wanted it as well.

A blonde and a brunette drive into a lumberyard. The blonde gets out of her truck, walks up to a worker, and asks for some four-by-twos.

"You mean two-by-fours?" the worker asks.

The blonde says, "I’ll go check." She walks back to the truck, asks the brunette, and returns a minute later. "Yeah, I meant two-by-fours."

"All right. How long do you need them?" asks the worker.

The blonde pauses for a minute and says, "Hold on, I’d better go check."

After a moment, the blonde returns to the worker and says, "A long time. We’re gonna build a house."

My room mate who I dislike greatly, wants me to be a witness to the argument his b/f and him had in front of me. His b/f filed a restraining order against him and now he has to go to court. I know that my testimony is not what my room mate wants to hear and I know it will not help his case, but if I told him this he'll get mad, if I decided not to be a witness he'll get mad and if I decide to go and I testify he'll probably get mad when he hears what I have to say. I don't want any problems with him at home since he could pull me into legal problems as well.

I have a father who is financially irresponsible. The guy has scammed his way through life and left hundreds of unpaid bills, loans, etc. He has no health or life insurance and I assume I'll be stuck with his funeral expenses as his only child. I've spoken with him about it and he doesn't seem willing to do anything to solve the problem. When he dies, I'll pay for the funeral, but how can I protect myself from being stuck with all of his debts?
