Well, Greece was divided in many independent kingdoms, Athens, Sparta, Mycynes( Agamemnones kingdom), Salamis, Corinth etc. They were three greek tribes, Achaiois,Iones and Doriois and were spread throughout Greece.
the ones who went to Sparta were the Achaiois who were the biggest tribe. That was the name of the Greeks back then.
The Trojans were part greek, part Asian but were not considered to be Achaioi, and Troy was not a kingdom of Greece. They had however the same Gods and similar customs.
I know that Athens and Sparta had a war but am not really sure who won at the end, sorry.

Well, Troy was a city that is located in present-day Turkey.
The Trojans come into Greek mythology when Paris, the Trojan Prince, had to decide to give the Apple of Discord to either Hera, Aphrodite or Athena. Each of the goddesses promised to give him something if they were given the apple. In the end, Paris gave the Apple of Discord to Aphrodite, the goddess of love. She promised him that he would have the most beautiful woman in the world.
That beautiful woman is referred to Helen of Sparta. She was hit the arrow of love and fell madly in love with Paris. She went with him back to Troy. But since she was already married, her husband wanted her to come back. This led to the Trojan War.

The other guy is right. To give a little more detail, according to mythology, Eris, the goddess of strife and discord created a golden apple with the inscription "to the fairest" and gave it to the shepherd Paris to judge who was deserving of it. the other goddesses greatly desired the apple, and they all offered him things like wisdom and power in exchange for it. He couldn't resist Aphrodite's offer of the most beautiful woman in the world to fall in love and marry him. He agreed, but, unfortunately, the woman was Helen of Troy and she was already married to Menelaus. Agamemnon, king of Mycenae and brother of Menelaus then led troops to attack Troy. the city of Troy was besieged for 10 years and resulted in the deaths of the famous heroes Achilles, Hector, and Paris. The Trojans were conquered by opposing troops presenting them with the gift of a huge wooden horse, in the guise of a peace offering. However, the horse was hollow, and come nightfall, the scores of troops hidden inside broke out and conquered Troy.
