Ask your adoptive parents if they have information as to where you were born. What state and what hospital. That will be helpful to you as well. Good luck and I hope you find your parents.

I am adopted. I had a wonderful life and a wonderful mother, I couldn't have asked for more. I must say that I was not complete and grounded until I located my birth-mother on the Internet. The need to know is understandably "Primal" for some.

I would bet that your parents have some paper work on your adoption. They may or may not be interested in sharing it. You must be 18 in order to search.

Shoot me an e-mail at britlandco@yahoo.com and I can help you a bit... I run a search and reunion website. I can give you some basic ideas.

The easiest way is to contact Dr. Phil, or one of the talk shows and let them do the research for you. Otherwise it can get really expensive. You can start by asking your parents, and try to find out what adoption agency they went through, and then follow up w/ the adoption records that the angency has to maintain.

There are a lot of free adoption sites out there that allow birth children/parents to try to reconnect.
Themore you know about your birth (location, time, etc) the more likely you are to find the information.
You could also ask your adopted parents, so it doesn't come as a surprise to them when you find out on your own.
This site lists many resources http://adoptionblogs.typepad.com/adoption/2005/06/free_adoption_s.html

I was adopted and my records are sealed and I found out on a whim that I was adopted. I crashed and burned at first then I came to acceptance and thankfulness that my parents loved me and did the best that could by me and for me.

If you know where you were adopted, go to the courthouse and see if you can look at the file. under the freedon of information act, you can if you're 18 or over. if you know what hospital, you might be able to see their records. contact the agency or lawyer involved and ask them. as I said, all this is available under the freedom of information act.

It depends what agency you were adopted through and if your biological parents actually left anything for you. You should ask your adoptive parents and see what information they can give you. Good luck! I'm currently looking for my biological mom right now. :)

I think that you would have to go back to the adoption place and do research on your real parents and family.
