He is only 27, has NEVER been injured. People are talking about his miles, WTF!? He didn't play much or start till his senior year of both high school or college, and his 3rd year in the NFL. That's like four years of high school beating.....

He ran behind one of the worst lines in the NFL(270 pound Kyle turley, kevin sampson, jordan black, WTF), far worse than LTs, last year, and still dominated.

Rumor has it LJ is wanting a contract what LT signed (8 year, 60 mil). Chiefs are looking to maybe trade LJ.

What do you think LJ is worth in contract, and what do you think he is worth in trade compensation?

You say "only 27", but that is half of a career for a running back. There were only 8 STARTING running backs older than that in NFL. He is worth 7 million a year for 4 years, or a first round pick, #15 or higher. Or 2 second round picks in 2007 and a 3rd rounder in 2008.

You're right he's never been injured, but he ran the ball 336 times in 2005 and 416 times last year. That takes a toll on your body, ask Jamal Lewis about that. That being said, and me being a Chiefs fan, they can't afford to let him get away. But he is absolutley nuts if he thinks he's gonna get an 8 year deal, though. He's worth a deal for the same amount of money per year but a shorter contract length - like 4 years for 30 million. As far as trading him, I don't see it happening, but he's certainly worth a first round pick and an additional 2nd or 3rd round pick the next year. Carl Peterson knows that he can't replace LJ's production, especially not in this draft - not because there's no talent but because the Chiefs have too many other holes to fill -, so he'll find a way to get him signed and once he does we won't have to worry about it for a few years.

I think that the Chiefs could get a 1st round (late 1st round) pick for him because of how weak the RB draft class is. It would be a perfect time to trade him to get the most in return..but at the same time it's a dumb idea to trade a guy as durable as him, but of course it's the NFL..players want to get paid what they're "worth." As far as paying LJ to stay with the Chiefs, I'd have to say less that LT by a decent margin...If I were the Chiefs I'd want to offer him a 4-5 year deal worth about $25-30million...which is still upwards $6million+ per year..good money for a good running back.

KC will end up signing him to an extention, LT like money. If they were to trade him I'd say a 1st and a 3rd with maybe a later round pick for next year.

LJ rushed for over 1700 yards the last two seasons.
KC would be absolutely insane to trade him.
They need to pay him similar to LT, because that is what he is worth.

three first rounders in trade compensation. He should get the second highest HB contract behind Tomlinson.
