That's blind faith. You haven't SEEN your "big bang". There's no evidence of it.

I think that your question limits the spectrum and is unable to be answered. Intelligent Design is just plain silly. The manner in which the universe unfolds and crashes about isn't chaos the way most people think of chaos. There is an order to it and all events were imminent at the moment of "Big Bang" as it set physical phenomena into effect that would have no other outcome. We are now uncovering the mathematical calculations that will allow us to predict the chaos ( Chaos theory) but it is best described to most folks as a chain reaction with no other possible outcome.

Is it possible that we are just a random occurrence?
Current scientific theory holds that in our galaxy alone there are 300,000,000 stars and there are several hundred million galaxies out there more or less the same size as ours. So do the math on that - 300,000,000 times about 300,000,000 equals 270,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars -- roughly -- in the known universe.
And current theory holds that there is an indefinite number of universes that exist at the same time, and that there may be an infinite number.
If that's the case - isn't it possible that our existence can be explained by just a random occurrence out of all those universes filled with all those stars? The numbers are unimaginably high.....

Design implies a designer.......and we've evolved to see order and patterns in what otherwise would be judged as chaos.
Whatever is not fully grasped by the feeble human mind is quickly attributed to a paranormal deity......that must be a naturally evolved reaction, some sort of dealing with fear of the unknown.
Evolution deals with matter arranged to make living things, not ROCKS, don't be such a dork.

Intelligent design only leads to infinite regression. In the real world complexity derives from selection mechanisms operating on variance which select locally complex systems from simple global ones.
No selection does not require a god. That is just nonsense. Just by existing you have selected a location conducive to your existence. Any mechanism which acts in a differential manner performs selection.

would not the universe violate the 2d regulation of thermodynamics - Nope. Sandcastles do not spontaneously look interior the coastline - attempt an argument that's not orientated in the direction of 6 year olds in Jesus camp. It takes a human back alongside and create the sandcastle, in any different case it is going to in no way take place. - You pronounced one element ultimate. a similar with a universe, ultimate? - back, attempt an argument for adults, not 6 year olds. i'm an Atheist, yet my pal set me a project to supply an argument for smart layout. absolutely everyone care to refute it?) - there's a distinction between an argument and an smart argument.

Lack of god doesn't mean choas. We have things called physical laws that govern the universe.
There is plenty of evidence for the big bang. Please look up WMAP, COBE, cosmic microwave background, and the expansion of the universe. Really, we've known about this for decades.
Rocks are not alive. They don't evolve. You might want to look up evolution while you're looking up the big bang.

Chaos.
What's so intelligent about some Cosmic Designer giving us tailbones or appendices? Or creating scorpions, cancer, or typhoid fever? Or creating extinct species like trilobites or wooly mammoths?
