I have been dating a guy for 4 mos & we just broke up. He said he was acting the part of a boyfriend or pretending the whole time and never felt for me emotionally. This sounds completely unimaginable b/c hes a good hearted person, u cant pretend its there if its not esp 4 that long. He even inc. me in future plans yet never felt emotionally connected to me ever?! His past g/f were terrible 2 him and they were losers while im everything any guy would b looking 4 yet he felt 4 them after 3 mos so thats his criteria that he should be head over heels 4 me now & b/c of that feeling not being there now hes letting me go? I didnt love him till just recently i told him mature love takes time to grow and the reasons why his past g/f didnt work out was b/c it happened too soon. He also judges me b/c i had sex with him sooner than past g/f therefore he developed lustful feelings 4 me & that makes me not future material. He says hes not ready 4 someone like me, is there any sense 2 this?

Fence execs sentenced for illegal hiring By ELLIOT SPAGAT, Associated Press Writer
Wed Mar 28, 8:29 PM ET

Two executives at a company that once helped build a fence to keep illegal immigrants from crossing the Mexican border were sentenced Wednesday to six months of home confinement for hiring undocumented workers.

Mel Kay, founder, chairman and president of Golden State Fence Co., and manager Michael McLaughlin had pleaded guilty in federal court to knowingly hiring illegal aliens. U.S. District Judge Barry Ted Moskowitz ordered each to serve 1,040 hours of community service and spend three years on probation.

Kay, 64, was fined $200,000 as part of a plea agreement, and McLaughlin agreed to pay $100,000.

Federal prosecutors took the rare step of seeking prison time after the men acknowledged hiring at least 10 illegal immigrants in 2004 and 2005. The charges carried a maximum possible penalty of five years in prison.

However, prosecutors were unable to find a previous case in which an employer had been sent to jail for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants.

"Prosecution is long overdue in this area," Moskowitz said. "Honestly, the government's efforts have been at the border, not with the employer. Obviously, the government has signaled a change with this case."

In December, company officials acknowledged knowingly hiring illegal immigrants and agreed the firm would pay a $4.7 million fine, one of the largest for immigration violations.

Moskowitz said he was uneasy with handing down jail time because the company did not deserve to be "the poster child" for unscrupulous employers. All of Kay's workers paid Social Security taxes and received health benefits, vacation and sick time. Many earned more than $50,000 a year.

Golden State saw sales soar from $60 million in 1998 to $150 million in 2004, according to a biography of Kay provided by the company.

Federal authorities said they found no evidence that illegal immigrants were hired in the late 1990s while the company built more than a mile of the 14-mile fence near a border crossing in San Diego.

Government agents raided Golden State Fence's Riverside office last year and found that more than 100 were unauthorized to work — including three the company had been ordered not to employ after a 1999 audit by the government.

Kay apologized before he was sentenced and described how his business suffered after the guilty pleas. Golden State was banned from government work, which accounts for 30 percent of its revenue. The company has laid off about 150 employees, leaving it with about 500 workers.

"I feel I have paid a tremendous price," Kay said. "I've lost a lot of accounts. (Customers) don't want to be guilty by association."

McLaughlin said he was relieved at not having to serve prison time.

The company did work at military bases and other government facilities — an irony that Moskowitz noted as he considered whether to send Kay to prison.

"He'd probably go to one of the camp facilities that he built the fence for," the judge said.

I have all the 6 copies of Linux iso images on my hard disk. However, I can't burn them into the CD because there is not enough spae in the CD. Each iso image is about 700MB.

How do I burn the images into the CD? The system also said I needed a CD-R/RW disk for the Linux. What is a CD-R/RW disk and what is the difference between it and the CD-RW disk?

Last November I sold a short story to an online fiction magazine. The story was published in their Fall/ Winter issue. They sent me a contract, which I signed, and sent back to them. I never received the payment that was promised. I emailed them about the status of my payment and they wrote back and never even addressed the fact that I hadn't been paid. They simply said that the magazine was closing down, thanks for my business, et cetera. However, the contract was signed and the story was published in their last issue. Have they or haven't they behaved truthfully and what should I do?

When we first started dating my parnter and I decided to commute together. She drove her car from Sept. to December and I have driven my car from January on. When she was driving I filled her tank a hand full one times (I'm not sure the exact amount). She has filled my tank once. Since we commute she gets dropped off first because we travel north to work and her place of employment is furtherst south. Hence I am often late for work (which has been a big argument for us). She doesn't like the gym, I love the gym and used to go everyday. However because we commute together I don't get to go often (I'm gaining weight, feel like crap and miss the gym). Since we fight about me being late, and I miss the gym I thought it would only make since for us to longer commute together. I realize however that I've driven one less month so I suggested I pay her 60.00 for gas money (it costs her 30.00/ week to fill her car), which would cover two of the four weeks in April and since she's filled my

Much of the growth was fueled by a "robust" RE market the past 6 years. Now it is coming apart like the proverbial house of cards. Well actually mortgage defaults going up has been in the news for at least a year, things are just coming to a head now.
Coupled with reduced domestic funding available to finance this war for oil, lots of municipalities have had to cut way back. I am an LPN. I work for my state. The facility I work at has lost about 10% of the staff due to cuts. Other facilities have experienced similar situations.
I work four 10 hour shifts. It is hard work. Some of you who don't know better, will say I'm a lazy union employee making $20 an hour for sitting on my butt. Other than being a union worker, none of that is true, not of me or any of my co-workers.
This means good jobs paying $14-16 per hour have vanished from your community. The lower middle class workers that make your community function the way you'd like.
