This is a common misconception. Truth is, Yahweh wants you to follow Bono unquestioningly.

Obviously not, since we humans are created to be curious creatures. All of the prophets had doubts and questions, if you read the Bible carefully.

On the other hand, Yahweh seems to get a little impatient at some point at people who insist that they must know everything before they will follow him (Exodus 4:1-17). Like any of us, God seems to value trust (faith) in his relationships with other people, and God seems to think that he has earned it.

Yes. If you want proof, go make two sacrifices, and see which one lightning strikes. You should follow Yahweh (NOT BAAL) on unquestioningly.

Well, if he existed as he was presented in the bible, then I'd say he probably wants you to follow him unquestioningly. I mean after all, Adam and Eve didn't listen to him one time and got expelled from the garden of Eden. If that's not a sign that he wants blind obedience, I don't know what is.

Fortunately, we don't have to worry about that because we know he doesn't exist. :) Yay for us.

Why would he bother with writing the Bible if he did not want you to ask questions? Why would he create you with spiritual needs? Of course, he wants you to ask questions and learn the answers too. He tells us, though, that no one will ever know all the things of God, so at some point, we must decide we know enough to follow him.

Following anything without question removes any hope of understanding, truth or enlightenment. Only by questioning, doubting, and the postulation of alternate concepts can the veil in which we are shrouded be removed.

The Lord told us to come and reason with Him about things we do not understand. I believe we are allowed to question what He asks us to do if we dont understand it, if we do we should be doing what He says because we know what the end result is. Feel free to question what you dont understand, but do what He asks. He really doesn't ask for much at all.

you know what - God knows our hearts - He knows the core...He knows we have/might have questions, He understands our doubts. We can ask Him anything, even questions, and there are answers. Its when there are no answers He expects you to follow him by faith. that is in turn a test of your faith - in Him. Remember when Abraham had to leave everything and go where God told him to God gave him no map nor compass, but asked him to do it in faith. its what we are all asked to do....

Nope! Yahweh doesn't exist, and couldn't possibly want anything.

Yes. Just like sauron and the one ring to rule them all. Mind him and you've got no issue.

All us little atheists are like hobbits, bucking the system and trying to pitch the ring in the volcano. (err, no disrespect to your new avatar. Nice! Btw! Nicer than pink boots, even!)
