How does music do it ? Write some words and create a melody .... seems simple but .... it can have such a great effect. Get people moving ..... touch the emotions ....

Plus .... songwriters seem to come up with words that touch the very soul .... or could explain your thoughts. And some songwriters do it over and over ... as well as putting the words to great music. Where does this gift come from ????

My parents are going to get a divorce. They're saying that it's not set in stone, but I just know it's going to happen. As a 14 year old, I can't help but blame myself, even though I know it's not my fault. I also have this issue about custody. I'm not sure if I'm ready to decide who I love more and would rather live with. My life is just WAY to confusing right now, and I'm under soooooo much stress, that even my grades are beginning to drop, and I'm a straight A student! I need MAJOR help right now, because my life is just being turned upside down! ALL HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Hey all <3 (this is an edited question!)

I'm a Grade 7 and am in my third term in Shop (Woodworking) Class. For the end-of-term project, the class has to go into the shop and make a child's toy. The toy has to be something a 7-year-old would enjoy playing with, with no sharp edges that could harm them.

I have no experience in making toys, I only have a week or two to make this so I can't make a dollhouse or something so elaborate, and I need something simple that would still get me a good mark.

I was thinking of making a duck on wheels or something... but I'd love your ideas. If you have ever done a project like this, or just if you have an idea, PLEASE reply! I'd be soo grateful.

Did you hear about the Texas police officer that pulled over a car and as he was standing next to it the driver turned the wheels toward the officer and pulled off nearly hitting the officer. The officer shot at the tires and hit and lady in the jaw because she was jammed in the trunks corner. The officer was sentenced I think for 6-12 months.

How about the two border patrol agents sentenced to 10 years for shooting a drug smuggler fleeing back to Mexico. (He was shot in the buttocks)

Are these good things? Bad? What do you think???

I was involved in an auto accident. Another driver was attempting to pass 3 cars behind me and then decided to try to pass me as I was in the process of making a left hand turn. The other driver stated to police that he did not notice i was turning even though I did have my signal on and the other cars behind me were slowing down to allow me to make the turn. The other car T-boned my drivers side door and front wheel well causing me to skid completely across the road. He hit me at approximately 50-60 MPH. I have been to 4 doctors and my official diagnosis is displacement of a thoracic intervertabral disc and a cervical vertabral disc and a bilateral IVD. I am suffering severe headaches and pains in my neck, between my shoulderblades and into my lower back as well as tingling and numbness in my fingers and toes.I cannot return to my regular work duties.Only light duty. I have one of the best attorneys and doctors in Texas working my case. What kind of monetary settlement can I expect?

Last night I posed the question of the Panthers for trading Luongo but how dumb are these 2 teams for not making a trade for a goalie at the deadline.
Both teams are on the play-off bubble DESPITE atrocious goaltending all year. They must have realized that they needed an upgrade and if they did upgrade, they would would have already locked down a play-off spot.
I mean, come on, the Flyers got Biron for a 2nd round pick, in hindsight, I bet that both GM's wish they would have done that deal. Biron is better than the whole pack of them. Holmqvist, Denis, Ward and Grahame have all been liabilities.
It's not just Biron they could have had either, lots of guys were available that would be an upgrade to these teams, someone like CuJo comes to mind.
Those southern GM's are out of their mind these days.

am telling you that if you read this... even as a Doctor... you will gasp for air. My husband and I have been married for two years. In this time frame... my mother in law has flown our children out,... behind our backs,... had the children call us and say terrible things... call up her son and beg him to leave me... with 6 children, OMG the list is WAY TO MUCH TO GET INTO! Are successful people happy...?
I keep hearing about tips on being happy. Many recommend making goals, writing down goals, accomplishing goals, etc. So I'm wondering, is being happy basically come down to accomplishment? Is that what makes people really happy?
Are people who've "accomplished their dreams" set for life, and wake up every morning extremely happy and have no worries? Why go through all the extra effort and arduous tasks needed to become successful if happiness isn't guaranteed? You could end up living as a machine, tirelessly pursuing happiness but never quite catching it.

A while back I asked if the wings ever fall off Cessna 150s and I got some joking replies. I expected that.

However, I did find a few instances where the wings did fall off of a 150 in flight. (Nearly always in a uncontrolled flight.)

This is the latest:

I am not for sure, but from what can I ascertain is that the pilot lost control of the aircraft in a fog and in the ensuing dive the stresses exceeded airframe parameters and the wings tore off. I guess it does happen!

Am I reading the report right?

One of my friends has got into drugs, he sniffs fumes and injects himslef, and i dont want him to die!!

What is it about Harry Potter, from the books to the movies to the toys, that makes it something that certain people see it as the work of Satan?? What about the LOTR, The Wizard of Oz, The Worst Witch(remember the HBO movies back in the 80's based on the books?), and all the rest of the magical stories and movies that are out there???? What makes Harry Potter such a different type of enigma that extremists see it as a threat, when they themselves have not even taken the time to read the books or watch the movie, as they feel they will be tainted, turned to frogs, damned to Hell, etc.

My theory is that the Harry Potter books and movies are not just about people living or visiting a Magical land, as Dorothy did in Oz, but that it's about children learning spells and magic.....however, they are doing this in a make-believe world, where people fly around on brooms.....and, if you notice, they celebrate Christmas, NOT Yule.....which I find rahter odd.

Anyone else care to have a go at this??
