I watched this story today on Good Morning America. Frankly, although not unsympathic to the grief of the unfortunate families, I just can't relate to this story.
Perhaps it is because I grew up in a different time and/or a different culture, but I just never engaged in painful and stupid behavior like this and never knew anyone else who did either. Anyone who would choke themselves to feel "high" is psychotic. There must be signs of psychosis long before they suffocate themselves. The parents are obviously in denial. That is my opinion and nothing anyone says will change it.

Yes, I have definently heard about it. I am currently 24 yrs old. It was going on hot and heavy while I was in school. I am not sure if I should post this for young children to see as well...but I think it is important for others to know. Btw, yep, I am a mom lol my daughter is 4. The teenage boys in gym class were always messing around. We all had gym class basically together. We were on half of the gym and they were on the other half. Anyway lol sorry. The one boy would choke themselves till they almost passed out and have a friend standing infront of them. and when the choking one gave the signal his friend would shove him into the wall. A few boys (not in my school) have passed away from it. I don't know the whole meaning behind any of it but what reallly puzzled me was the whole getting shoved into a wall?? Some were getting brain damage not only from the lack of oxygen, but getting their head pounded either by the wall or falling. So please I agree with the person who posted this, be aware of it and talk to your children.

Yes children have been doing this for years. When I was a teenager they would do this and mb at the same time, gave a really big rush. When i was in my twenties a teenage boy was on Oprah or rather his mother putting out the word about this weird form of mb and choking. Now I am hearing about the choking game but not necessarily associated with mb. This morning I heard on the news where a boy had died doing this.

Yes, I have heard about it on the news last night and they show a video of it. Also it was reported by another news station and had one of the kids was involve in that kind of activity. I couldn't stay to hear what he had to said, I was running late just to see was there anything different from the other report. Its a dang shame that these kids today are doing something like this to get their jollies. The sad part none of them know any thing about CPR if the other kid don't come around.
I wonder if a kid die from this kind of activity, would the other kid be trial for murder? I feel this society need to get their act together and fast. thanks for the head up!

Or What about dusting? Kids spray Dust-Off (spray used to clean computers) into their mouth which makes them high for about 10 seconds. It contains R2 a heavy gas that will keep the good air with oxygen in it out of your lungs. It killed a boy named Kyle in 2005. He was "dusting" and in TWO SECONDS he was dead. There is no pattern- its a game of chance and it just randomly goes terribly wrong. Don't use Dust-Off and don't let your kids either!!!

Yes, I heard about one called "Fluffy Bunny" (or something along those lines). It involved cramming as many marshmallows as possible into your mouth while saying "fluffy bunny". The problem is many children to not realize as the marshmallows become wet and warm they swell and get sticky. They can swell blocking the person's windpipe, but they can't cough it up or swallow it. They eventually wind up suffocating...it is very alarming. I have had several talks with my children, nieces and nephews and other parents about this danger.

This is such a serious thing......................in the past month of March there has been 2 deaths in our middle school. One Girl who died in a barn trying the game by her self and a boy who died in his bedroom closet choking his self.
There are many different names this game is called. I cant name then. Parents need to discuss this with their kids and get the point across to them about how deadly this it!
