I am planning on buying my first computer soon.
Right now, I have a computer that was made in 95 and had Windows 98 on it and it has Microsoft works. I never upgraded it so it is REALLY slow.
My husband uses the computer to listen to music and watch stuff on you tube. I just want one that will have Word and Excel.
Where is the best place to buy a computer? Will we need to buy a new cable modem?
Oh and we don’t want to send more the $1000.



The computer we have now what a gift when I was in high school so I never bought one.

What are the things I should be looking for in this initial frame walk? I will have my sales person and the construction guys there with me so any questions or concers can be addressed but this early in the process what are some things I can look for?

Whenever I try to open a javascript web link the like doesn’t open. How can if fix this problem?

It's not just games and applet stuff, its more websites that use it as a pop up link that I need to access that i can't.

I also keep getting messages about stack overflows....

I think it may have something to do with the registry... if anyone knows how to fix this or can direct me to someone who does, it would be very appreciated.

Every couple months or so I get an intense craving for milk while I am sleeping. It's so instense that it wakes me up and I cannot go back to sleep until I have guzzled a glass of milk. Just to wake up an hour later for another glass of milk... and another... and another.

I am just curious why this might be happening. It's only for one night and once every 6 months. I drink milk every day and I take multi-vitamins so I don't think it is a deficiency issue. It's just really annoying having to wake up every hour, go to the kitchen, and drink a glass of milk.

We made an offer on a new home. The ONLY negative is there is not an upstairs bathroom where all of the bathrooms are. How difficult and expensive would it be to put a bathroom upstairs by running pipes upstairs? There is a room upstairs directly above the downstairs bathrooms and laundry room.

I've been noticing the differences in attitudes towards childbirth between the US and the UK. There are so many differences! All uncomplicated pregnancies and births are attended by midwives in the UK as a matter of course. In the US all care is provided by a OBGYN doctor and births seem to be more medicalised. In the US inductions seem far more common, especially between 37-40 weeks, whereas in the UK a healthy pregnancy would not normally be induced until after 42 weeks. I've also noticed that in the US even spontaneous labours are speeded up with the use of hormone drips and breaking of waters, seemingly far more often than in the UK. Attitudes to pain relief seem different also, with epidural anaesthesia seeming to be almost the norm in the US whereas in the UK it's usually a last resort. Home births seem far less common in the US also, why is this??

I just wondered if anyone else had noticed this. Why is it this way and which model of care do you think is preferable???

Since she and I were good friends, ever liked each other, but it is not happen because there is no rush thing. She isn't ready in a relationship yet, prefer to be herself focus on studies at college. After I move on, I heard about her who is talking to friends. She thinks I may be not person for her without getting know each other. Like she judges on me after we met at college. About several months later, I did not feel this way, I realize who is she for me, how could she like me, later, change things she may be path other way. I am still afraid if she find someone else after I movie on. I do not know if I want her or not, there is no chance for me have happy life with her. If I want her, I should ask her if I could be a happy life with her ever she thinks because I am one who likes her before.
