We made an offer on a new home. The ONLY negative is there is not an upstairs bathroom where all of the bathrooms are. How difficult and expensive would it be to put a bathroom upstairs by running pipes upstairs? There is a room upstairs directly above the downstairs bathrooms and laundry room.

You may be able to get a better deal on the house, since there is no bathroom upstairs.

As for putting a bathroom upstairs you have to tie into the other plumbing. The bigger the bathroom (bathtub/shower toilet, 2 sinks) the more piping you will need. You will also have to make adjustments to the rest of the plumbing too. This will accomodate the larger water use when both bathrooms are being used.
As for price it will very.you have to shop around. Look in the yellow pages to find a number of contractors that will be able to due this for you.
