This should come as no surprise to anyone who has looked at the military record of George W. Bush. With a candor that has since disappeared, he told the Houston Chronicle in 1994: “I was not prepared to shoot my eardrum out with a shotgun in order to get a deferment [Vietnam] . Nor was I willing to go to Canada. So I chose to better myself by learning how to fly airplanes.”

At the height of the Tet Offensive, when American troops were up against the wall, when the Viet Cong had taken Hue and the American Embassy in Saigon, Bush Clan clout got him into the Texas Air National Guard, despite lousy scores on his pilot aptitude test. Ironically, the unit was known locally as Air Canada because it offered all the benefits of a flight north of the border, without the weather and legal problems. To make doubly sure, he ticked the box saying “No” to overseas service.

I was in ASDA the other day buying a large bag of Pedigree for my dog, and was in line to check out.
A woman behind me asked if I had a dog........ Duh!
I was feeling a bit crabby so on impulse, I told her no, I was
starting The Pedigree Diet again, although I probably shouldn't
because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50
pounds before I awakened in an intensive care unit with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms.
Her eyes about bugged out of her head.
I went on and on with the bogus diet story, and she was totally believing it.
I told her that it was an easy, inexpensive diet and that the way it
works is to load your pockets or handbag with Pedigree nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The package said the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

My husband and I have a disagreement. He claims "0" on his w-2, I claim "1". What is better? We both work. We both make generally the same amount. We have no children. And we both put into retirement (although not the maximum). He said that we get more back at tax refund time than I because he claims "0". (Which I believe). I just dont believe that having the maximum taken out on each paycheck is worth the refund in the end. He's the mathmatical guru of us both, and I just am so confused. Someone please explain the benefits of claiming "0" so I can let him do it his way!!!!

I love the fitted, classic, light wool Victoria's secret coats, but they're out of stock in my size/preferred color until next season. I already tried looking on ebay - does anyone know where else I could find their merchandise or something similarly fitted?

I've always liked power windows. Something happened to the driver side window of my 1997 Saturn, it fell off the track or something. Should I take this opportunity to convert the windows to power windows? How much does this cost? Is it worth it?

I see in the paper that Prince William is serving in the UK military and is being deployed to Iraq. Shouldn’t we look to Bush's daughters show their support of dad's policies by volunteering for military duty? Why would they not want to show their support? What do they do for a living?
