I see in the paper that Prince William is serving in the UK military and is being deployed to Iraq. Shouldn’t we look to Bush's daughters show their support of dad's policies by volunteering for military duty? Why would they not want to show their support? What do they do for a living?

HELL YES! Why should the middle class have their sons, daughters, fathers & mothers die in the name of George W(ussy) Bush? I'm all for the draft---I've served 5+ years. Why not them? They are Americans--they should serve their country proudly.

I would have said serve their country like their father...but he didn't. He took the cowards way out.....tsk tsk tsk tsk.

No, why should they suffer for the stupidity of their father?

If they really wanted to do something useful they could volunteer to work at a VA hospital and help the tens of thousands of service people coming home with missing limbs, eyes, and other body parts.

What would really boost morale would be if Wolfowitz, Perl, Kristol, Feith, and even Irving "Scooter" Libby, would scurry out from under their rocks and suit up. The neo-conmen who created this human tragedy could lead by example by leading from the front. Cheney is useless enough to go too, but he has "friendly fire" issues.

Anyone with the cunning of a Paul Wolfowitz ought to have no trouble at all disarming a simple IED. Either way, it would be great for morale.

Both of these druggies and alcoholics are protected by no less than a dozen or so secret service people at all times so it would be very difficult to say the least to be followed around on a battlefield or a war zone.

The reason why Prince William is being sent to Iraq is that no one really gives a crap if something happens to him anyway!

The difference is this:
We live in the United States. Not a single one of us, in theory, is any more important than the next one. So, what purpose would it serve, if they volunteered? A bloodthirsty notion of revenge for a fallen loved one? Wishing for that is barbaric and uncouth. I know warfare is ugly. I've been there. It wakes me up at night. I think a lot of you anti-war people, while embracing a decent cause, have no clue what living or dying is all about. So, wishing for the Bush daughters to volunteer, and probably also hoping for their deployment to a combat zone, is hypocritical in the highest.

Bush daughters are in the elite group in the USA. This group does not usually enlist. Usually, the people in the poor or middle class do enlist.

The armed forces recruiters don't hang around high end areas but malls in the lower class neighbourhoods. Didn't you watch Fahrenheit 9/11?

Even I think they are more of a liability unless they stay stateside and are confined to something where one is not exposed to the risk of being kidnapped. Being oveseas would put a burden on some one's command and their security detail at risk.
Too high profile...but what are the qualified for? I don't want to sell them short but I have doubts their service is in the best interests of the nation.

No, Bush daughters should not serve in military. If he had a son I'd wish he send him. Other than that, most people above are right. Send in the Neo Cons.
