A vacuum jar is a good example, once the vaccum has been produced the inside of the jar is hermetically sealed.
Another example is food packaging, sealed to stop bacteria etc from the air getting to the foods

One example of hermetically sealed thing is motor and compressor combined assembly of a refrigerator completely sealed so that it is cut off from outside atmosphere.

It means sealed so that nothing can come in or out. For instance: The room was hermetically sealed. This means that the room was sealed off from people entering or leaving the room.
