Harry Burns: You realize of course that we could never be friends.
Sally Albright: Why not?
Harry Burns: What I'm saying is - and this is not a come-on in any way, shape or form - is that men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets in the way.
Sally Albright: That's not true. I have a number of men friends and there is no sex involved.
Harry Burns: No you don't.
Sally Albright: Yes I do.
Harry Burns: No you don't.
Sally Albright: Yes I do.
Harry Burns: You only think you do.
Sally Albright: You say I'm having sex with these men without my knowledge?
Harry Burns: No, what I'm saying is they all WANT to have sex with you.
Sally Albright: They do not.
Harry Burns: Do too.
Sally Albright: They do not.
Harry Burns: Do too.
Sally Albright: How do you know?
Harry Burns: Because no man can be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her.
Sally Albright: So, you're saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive?
Harry Burns: No. You pretty much want to nail 'em too.
Sally Albright: What if THEY don't want to have sex with YOU?
Harry Burns: Doesn't matter because the sex thing is already out there so the friendship is ultimately doomed and that is the end of the story.
Sally Albright: Well, I guess we're not going to be friends then.
Harry Burns: I guess not.

Yes! I know from experience that a true friendship from the opposite sex is a truly possible thing. I have a best friend who is a boy (he is also my bf! :-D I am so happy!) and he probably knows me better than anyone. A true friendship with the opposite gender is hard to come by though and is sometimes shunned apon so if you have one hang on to it and appreciate it all the time.

Yes but it's rare. Someone usually starts falling in love. Then they start having intimate relations, and when it doesn't work out, they lose a good friend. It's very hard to be one on one and in each others company with out falling for each other. A person must set boundraies, and stick to them. Not to spend alot of time alone with that person. That's when things are bound to happen for whatever reason.
I just read some of your other comments, they wound up marrying their best friend. I did too. That's what I mean about setting boundraies if you wnat nothing but friendship.

Absolutley. One of my best friends is a guy we have been friends for 15 years. Never any tension or akward moments. He is Godfather to my kids, was there when I got married.
Of course men and women can be friends even when the society we live in would like to think otherwise.

yes i do, as long as your thoughts and those of your friends are completely honest and pure, i think men and women can be friends. I am married for a coupla years but have been friends with another guy for almost 9 years...he's kinda like a brother to me!...
its all about what both of your true intentions are....if one of you has another agenda then things can get messy!

sure there could nicely be genuine friendship between adult men and females...I certainly have a lot of guy associates that are like my brothers and haven't any sexual activity in them by means of fact at the beginning I certainly have time-venerated them considering we've been in preschool and so i be attentive to a lot of stuff approximately each of them which includes people they have been with or despite the fact that and plus they have consistently taken care of me like their sister so there isn't any way contained in the international that we could do something. whether we thought approximately it it may merely be extraordinary!! style of gross! =D

yes. I have had plenty of guy friends who were only just friends. Who liked me just for me and who didn't want to date me or anything like that and vice versa. So it is possible. My fiance also knows girls that are his friends that he has no interest in what so ever and the feelings are the same on their behalf. It may seem uncommon but it does happen.
