People like you and I, though mortal of course like everyone else, do not grow old no matter how long we live...[We] never cease to stand like curious children before the great mystery into which we were born.

A young couple had been arguing about what new vehicle they would buy. He wanted a big truck, but she wanted a sports car.

After about an hour the woman had to leave, and said, "look, all I want is something that goes from 0 to 200 in less than four seconds. My birthday is coming up next week, buy something that will surprise me!"

A week later she opened her present, a new set of bathroom scales!
(The funeral will take place next Tuesday)

It will be my wife's birthday tomorrow. When I asked her what she wanted, she said something with diamonds would be nice. I've bought her a packet of playing cards.

Remember, growing old is inevitable, but growing up is optional!

instead of the literal bible text where everything revolves around the earth, what happened?

I can tell you what happened:
- Galileo went to jail/house arrest
- the church accepted the heliocentric view (albeit 100 years later)
- Believers KEPT RIGHT ON BELIEVING
- Nothing really changed for christianity

See? Your faith and church didn't crumble because science proved the bible wrong. The very fact that you are a christian today attests to that.

So why fight evolution tooth and nail? It makes you look like fools and it is a losing battle.

Nothing will change when you accept evolution, except there won't be so much snickering from our (heathen, atheistic) side.

note: I realise not every christian is ignorant enough to deny evolution. But you should really educate your brethren.

So I've heard about 401K, Roth IRA, IRAs, I don't truly understand them all but I know they work on compound interest and that there are heavy tax penalties for taking the money out before you are 55/59 years old. Are there any type of savings plans that you can invest in that remain liquid? Meaning you could get to that money without paying heavy fees? I'd like to take advantage of compound interest but I hate the idea of losing a lot of that money by taking out money early - or even by paying taxes on it after 55/59 years old..... is there any way to avoid paying huge taxes, save with compound interest, and still have the savings be a liquid asset?
