I feel very uncomfortable right now I am 16 years old and have had my period for almost 5 years I have tooken ib profven it doesnt seem to help i feel the need to lay down and rest my cousin had such bad cramps she had to stay home when she was younger she is now 22 I have a training session today with my personal trainer they say that exercise should help me with cramps I walk to the gym so that is exercise should i try another machine 10 mintues before i start trainig with my trainer? meanwhile what should i do about my cramps

exercise, motrin and a heating pad. refrain from eating junk food, all the grease and salt makes it worse! try to concentrate on getting better, positive thoughts will help you!

The ibuprofen and exercise are both good to help relieve some of the symptoms, but they do not answer the question about what could be the actual cause of your symptoms. While every woman experiences "cramps" during menses, particularly younger women, those who find themselves debilitated by the pain and symptoms should work with their gyn to consider a diagnosis of Endometriosis. Endometriosis also runs in families, and a woman with a family member who also has Endo has a 6x higher risk of having it herself. This might interest you and lend some help:

midol works pretty good for cramps.
