I have a research project that has been decimated by the cold. I am in need of 20 potato plants (not sweet potato) per week for upwards of 2 months. I need these plants for their leaves so they must be fully developed plants. Does anyone know where i can order these plants online or via phone? If so please list the number/url. Thanks

The eyes of the potato are what grows the plants. Commercially purchased potatoes are treated so as to not grow, but they do. If you can get potatoes from a farmer that have been stored and not treated they will grow better. Cut sprouted potatoes with one shoot per piece and plant the cutting with sprout a few inches deep.
You can ask Cooperative Extension in your area for more information or try a agway or other farm store.

you can visit plant nursery or visit good web site .
Potatoes are grown from 'seed' potatoes which grow better if they are allowed to 'sprout' before planting. First purchase the seed potatoes in mid-December to mid-January . These are available from seed catalogues or your local garden centre. Look for seed potato which is certified as free from disease and select healthy looking examples about the size of an egg.
Frost damage is the first concern in the early stages. If shoots emerge above the soil level and frost threatens, draw a little soil from the bed edges over them.

After the potatoes plants have grown to about 20cm (8in) pull up the soil in between the rows around the plants leaving a few centimetres still showing. Repeat the exercise in two to three weeks time.

Leave a small bag of potatoes in a dark cupboard not to cold, and they will start to grow shoots, witch you plant with shoot facing upwards, approx 3 inches below the surface. It takes a few weeks for them to grow leaves.
