Very long story, I'll try to condense as much as possible? My husband had a friend who had no ride nor job. So, my husband picks up this guy who is married w/a little boy, takes him to tag along w/him to help him work, and pay him for being like a helper. (My husband works for himself) My husband picks this guy up to go to work w/him, buys his cigs and lunch then takes him home...for about 3 weeks. While in the store one day buying cigs, this guy steals 6 checks from our checkbook, and writes them out to himself and cashes them at the local grocery store.(totalled $600 he could of done worse?) I filed w/the bank that the checks were stolen, but haven't filed w/the police dept. His wife came over and begged us not to file charges on her husband, that she would pay back the money? But that's not the point? Right? Am I wrong to want to file charges? The wife's sister was a good friend of mine, but it's like we're the ones who stole from them? None of them will talk to us now?
