ever call Crimestoppers or similar "crime tips" hotline?

Question

I recently had to call and report some drug dealing neighbors, but won't find out what happened until 2 weeks after my call was placed while they put my report in line and investigate. In the meantime I'm wondering what experiences any of you had "ratting out the bad guys" and whether it was a success/failure etc?

ive never had to call them myself but might have to soon cause some stm 21 writing has appeared on out stop signs but its good that your helping keep your neighborhood safe for you and everyone
