My husband and I lost our lab mix, Lucky back in October due to old age. He came up to our house as a stray, in bad shape so we got him fixed, later on he blew out both ACL'S in both knees that were operated on. Later he was on 2 quite expensive arthritis pills that helped him alot. My husband LOVED this dog. I did to but I am the cat lady, I attend to our 8 cats needs. We knew he was fully grown 3-5 years old based on wwhat the vet has said and we had him for 13 years which means he was anywhere from 16 to 18 years old when he died. Now the problem, my husband says never another dog, youv'e already had the best, nothing would ever compare. How do I compete with that? Lucky was like his baby, the cats are mine, we don't have kids so there is a whole there where lucky used to be. What can I do to make this his idea? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

What are some good, solid, backed-up reasons to support and participate in national services (PeaceCorps, AmeriCorps, SeniorCorps)?

on the other side of the argument...
Why should someone NOT participate?
it has to be backed up, not something like "you can be doing better things, etc."


we have to be prepared for both sides because we wont know if were pro or con until the day of the debate

I am a King Arthur fanatic. I love all the stories and legends. I am writing my own King Arthur novel right now i call "Chronicles of Camelot". I personally have nothing against religion besides Jehovah's Witness who goes door to door and the individuals who say everything is a sin when its not their buisness. The majority of extremly religious people feel you need to believe in God if you don't but they don't wanna hear it when you tell them your perfectly happy not believing. I choose science and evolotion over the Bible because it has more facts to back it up. Science has multiple sources, religion people just say "the Bible says _______".

I do believe that for some people believing in a God helps them overcome things, I just personally think its all psychological.

I thought the law required employers to give all employees working over eight hours in a day to have two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch.

Why does this not apply to servers?

BTW..I am not a server but have many friends that are and NONE of them are offered breaks. They each work for different restaurants too.

This is another question that arose in one of my classes. Most of my questions are like that. Anyway, I'm just wondering is there a religion or belief or whatever that believes that man is not born good and not able to save himself and in need of a savior other then Christianity? I'm also wondering if there are any that believe that man is born evil? Or that man is born evil but that God will still save them just because God is God?

I have desperately wanted to get a cat since i was 4 1/2 im now 14!! My parents keep telling me we'll get one but I need to know if you're responsible enough and will you take care of it? I don't care if I have to clean up after it I've always wanted one! And now 2 of my friends have got them before me and one has a person who is mildly allergic to cats in the family!
