House deeds lost through Solicitor incompetence. How do i go about replacing them?

Been advised to obtain copy of Title Deeds from the Land Registry but i am unsure what these actually are and if would show i am the legal owner of the property.

i would get an abstract for the property. will cost $1 per page for a lawyer to proof read, but will give a detailed ownership of the property as well as any liens against it. if you lawfully perchased the land, it should be in the abstract.
