There is no consensus among researchers as to the best methodology for determining the religiosity profile of the world's population. A number of fundamental aspects are unresolved:
Whether to count "historically predominant religious culture[s]"
Whether to count only those who actively "practice" a particular religion
Whether to count based on a concept of "adherence"
Whether to count only those who expressly self-identify with a particular denomination
Whether to count only adults, or to include children as well (abuse and the escape from religion)
Whether to rely only on official government-provided statistics
Whether to use multiple sources and ranges or single "best source(s)"

Just about no other religion has need of a Savior in the same sense as Christianity mainly because none other recognizes the complete depravity of man due to his sinful condition.
Faith in Jesus is the only way to solve the condition of a man's heart.
Good question...God Bless.

In Islam, everyone is born pure. If someone dies before puberty it's a one-way ticket to Heaven. No matter if the parents were criminals, or how bad they were, children will always be pure and sinless.
But after puberty we'll start receiving sins and the only way to get to Heaven is to outweigh the sin with merits, or beg for forgiveness so that the sin is less.
Peace out.

Calling people "evil" and telling them they need a savior - and that you have access to him - is a great way to gain a whole lot of power.
That's how Christianity spread.

Sure, all of Christianity's pagan precursors. Gnosticism and Mithraism come to mind. Such religions were very popular in late antiquity.
