We may move from Colorado, USA, to Northampton, England this year. It seems terrorist activities are more apparent in the UK--or am I just getting the sensationalized versions of the stories? Bottom line, how concerned should I be for my family if we move (and it would of course be apparent that we are Americans)?

I saw an advertisement on TV for a new printer that you simply plug into the phone line and it receives e-mail and photos with no internet access - Does anyone know who makes this or what it is called? It's just a printer - no computer, keyboard or monitor required. Thanks!

I'm a medical student, i asked my psychiatry lecturer this question, he said it goes into deep philosophy or someting like that.
Say for example i want to pick up my pen, what is it that is making me do that? I understand the actual physiology i.e. motor cortex sends impulses down axons to muscle fibres etc etc, but where does that little voice or stimulus in my mind originate that makes me want to execute that action in the first place? Without trying to make it sound to freaky, but its almost like there's an independent 'being' in my head ordering my brain to make me do things i.e. pick up my pen when i want to do so.

Basically what i'm trying to ask is, what makes me 'want' to pick up my pen, or do anything for that matter?

And can you imagine... "nothing"... i can't... when i close my eyes, i see darkness, thats something ;-)

A male pastor walked into a neighborhood pub to use the restroom.

The place was hopping with music and dancing, until people saw the pastor.

As the room quieted down he walked up to the redhead bartender, and asked her,

"May I please use the restroom?"

The redhead replied, "I really don't think you should."

"Why not?" the pastor asked. "I really need to use a restroom!"

"Well, I don't think you should. There is a statue of a naked woman in there and she's only covered by a fig leaf!"

"Nonsense," said the pastor, "I'll look the other way!"

So, the bartender showed the clergyman the door at the top of the stairs, and he proceeded to the restroom.

After a few minutes, he came back out, and the whole place was hopping with music and dancing again!

He went to the bartender and said, "Miss, I, don't understand. When I came in here, the place was hopping with music and dancing. Then the room became absolutely quiet. I went to the restroom, and now the place is hopping again."

"Well, now you're one of us!" said the redhead. "Would you like a drink too?"

"But, I still don't understand," said the puzzled pastor.

"You see," laughed the redhead, "every time the fig leaf is lifted on the statue, the lights go out in the whole place. Now, how about that drink?"

The problem has occurred with increased frequency over the last 2-3 weeks, and seems to coincide with either someone taking a shower in one of the upstairs bathrooms, or when the washing machine is used. The washing machine is on the same level as the toilet in question, about 10-15 feet away. Only one of the upstairs showers seems to trigger the over-flowing. Please help!

I suffered from chicken pox 3 years ago.The infection was rather severe more so due to my mother giving me the rather wrong kind of treatment(I am so mad at her) and due t which the infection spread throughout my body.I was 13 then.Its been nearly four years now and allthough the scars have faded they have definitely not complelrely cleared away.I face severe confidence issues ever since this has happpened and I have become more reclusive and my personality has completely changed and I find it rather hard to approach people and become more of an introvert over a period of time.The scars are not visible on my face and hands although they are noticeable on my feet and I feel rather embarrased an can't even to a damned pool due to this and neither can I focus on my studies.I am so mad...period.My friends say I still look attractive but I feel that they are only saying it to make me feel better.

i wondering why people caint get it that a gun is a tool and its the person thats has control of that gun has to make the dision to do wrong i can take a base ball bat and kill and you dont see people wanting to take that away. i pack a conseled firearm every where almost and i see people you say why do you need that and i say its my right i refuse to become a victom of a crime i am so glad i live in a state that allows me to pack but i still get people that think i am crimminal for carring a gun why is my question i am the one who havs taken the class and got a perment to carry

I'm getting a male and female of breeding age. I want to know if they should be allowed to stay together or if I should seperate them for a while then put them together to encourage breeding. I want to encourage humans to stop buying wild-caught tortoises in my area! I dont like it.

Also, would a chick incubater work to incubate the eggs if I took the turning racks out?
