volume control?

on my task bar the icon for volume is gone where did it go and what did i do wrong

Do the following:

↓ Control panel
↓ Sounds and audio devices
↓ Sound and audio logo
↓ Click the small box saying place volume icon in taskbar

All u need to do is just click on start - All programs then Accessories - entertainment - volume control.and it will display the volume page for u to increase or reduce volume.
