In Europe as far asI know children are not told any longer anything at all about religion. Do you think it is a good or a bad thing. For my point of view, 50 years ago or more everyone was told a couple of hours a week about the stories in the Bible . Today as the world is more cosmopolite I guess they also could include Muslim religion or Hindu religion and explain about the particularity of each of them.
Surely knowing the basic of religion gives the children a better idea of what is right o wrong. Today so many have no notion of what is right or wrong.

The assumption is that God is super intelligent, much much more intelligent that anything else. Why then did he offer his only son as a blood sacrifice (to the principle of evil that God himself necessarily created {see the part about being omnipotent} to redeem humanity from sin? Isn't this grotesque and sadistic? Why couldn't He think of something better?

Even the President conceded there was no connection. I guess if Iraq would have been a success no body would have cares-most people vote their pocket book. My boyfriend and I went to the Hard Rock Casino to gamble one Sunday afternoon (texas hold 'em). I won $40 and he lost $20. He was irrated at me and called me selfish for not sharing with him to at least make him break even. Before making your decision, here's a a bit of background info: he's still in school(was at that time), with no job- therefore no money. I have been working for 2 years and pay for us often (but not always) That Friday night I took him out and paid for all of our drinks and dinner. I took him to breakfast and lunch on Saturday. All in all over the weekend I spent $170 bucks on drinks/food for us. So that Sunday, when we went to gamble, I looked at my winnings as Great!-- A little bit back on what I already spent this weekend! I had no problem taking him out, but was still excited to get a little bit back. I was totally taken aback when he insulted me about it, and we got in a huge fight! What do you think? Should I have shared and why?! Thanks :)

I am only speaking in reference to the United States.

Example one:
An atheist drives to work everyday and passes a large cross on his way (not on public land, remove that debate). Does he have the right, because he is offended by it, to make them take the cross down?

Example two:
I drive through the city of Las Vegas on a regular basis. There are dozens of billboards right off the interstate that show naked women and advertise strip clubs, porno shops, massage parlors that guarantee "happy endings," etc., etc. Do I have the right, because I am offended, to petition the city of Las Vegas to have those billboards removed from public view?

These are just examples, they are not meant for you to respond to in particular. As for my personal opinion, I would answer my own question "no."
