The assumption is that God is super intelligent, much much more intelligent that anything else. Why then did he offer his only son as a blood sacrifice (to the principle of evil that God himself necessarily created {see the part about being omnipotent} to redeem humanity from sin? Isn't this grotesque and sadistic? Why couldn't He think of something better?

Look at it this way -- it was God's way of saying to us, "See what I'm going through for your sake -- because I love you so much."

God entered into covenants with His people before. But Jesus was the New and Final Covenant. The others could not effect our redemption, but the New Covenant did.

It wasn't grotesque and sadistic -- it was a powerful statement to humanity, which is just as well because it usually takes powerful statements for us to finally "get it."

You have not read the history of creation or else you have not understood it to ask this.
God is not assumed to be anything by us creatures for He is Who He is inspite of our efforts to label Him.
Basically when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sided with satan they could no longer return themselves to that state of innocence that they had before, and as they were the reprsentatives of all future humanity their sin was inherited by all their descendants as much the same way as genetic inheritence.
Fallen man therefore could never redeem himself it would take a Godman to do this and so Christ became one of us in all things but sin and through His sacrifice alone we have been redeemed.

First of all, God did not create evil. It was the result of our ignorance that became the breeding ground of evil. Secondly, like what you've said God intelligence is really quite super. We can not fathom it by our puny brain.

Please, please read the Bible. God is not any of these things. Everything have a opposite and the only way He could cancel out our sins is by one perfect offer and Jesus gave up His life willingly to be this perfect offer. This all happened out of love not hate or anything else than perfect love. There is no darkness in God

I'm sure He could. The pertinent question is, would we have appreciated it as much as the "grotesque and sadistic" sacrifice that was made in our behalf?

Also keep in mind that God is not limited by the short-sighted, mortal perspective that we are. Yes, the end of mortality is a big deal for us, but looking at it from an eternal perspective, it's really not that huge of a deal.

God does not need to explain everything to his creations. We were brought down on this earth to live by his rules, not ours.
