I am about to start mentoring a 16 year old boy and although I have recieved training on what is expected of me I am interested to hear from people who have been mentored before, or who have been mentors. I know all the obvious things about building trust, good communication, open mindedness etc, but was hoping that you could share your own personal experiences. What would have made the experience better and more useful for you? Are there any mistakes I need to look out for? Thanks for your help.

A skater with a mass of 52.0 kg moving at 2.5m/s glides to a stop over a distance of 24meters. How much work did the friction of the ice do to bring the skater to a stop? How much work would the skater have to do to speed up to 2.5m/s again.

I am going mad with all the talk of dieting after the festive season here in London.

The problem is that despite the fact that for years nutritionists have told us the best way to lose or maintain a healthy weight is moderation we seem unable to just do a little excercise, eat smaller portions more often and eat a little bit of everything.

What makes it so hard for us to change our habits? (Myself included)

I have been to the doctor and he gave me a prescription to stop it and it doesn't. I am NOT pregnant - first because the doctor tested and second you can't be pregnant if you don't do anything. Anyway, I can't hardly eat anything and this has been going on for several days now. It is a very uncomfortable feeling...any ideas please. By the way I am 22, not overweight, and healthy otherwise.

I did, have to admit i love watching reality programs. Don't know any of the people in there except for Leo Sayer and the lady who writes articles for the newspaper. Well, I moved from another state a couple months ago and me and my husband had no house so we agreed to move in with my brother and his girlfriend.We are moving monday to our own house,but my problem is, yesterday they went shopping and usually we write our names on all our food so we know who's is who's....but she wrote on their butter tub- Do Not Touch, I will KILL you, I will KILL you in your sleep!
Lately she has had an attitide towards me and my husband and I am very upset by her writing that.To me, that is a death threat.If I called the police, will they just laugh at me? or can they do something about this? what would they do? What should I do? I tried talking to her and she just has an attitude.....

Girlfriend is hinting that the ring better be impressive. I think she was 1/2 kidding and 1/2 serious. I perfer a high quality stone but is a large, lower quality better to show off to your friends and family?
